PCIII was inspired while staying in Dallas/ Ft. Worth TX on tour in 2015, hearing reports of 11 earthquakes in a 24 hr period between Jan. 7th and 8th of that year. The area has seen an exponential rise of such quakes after the practice of Horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing (fracking) was employed to access local oil and natural gas wells.

Dearest friends and strangers here is the newest Flea Ridden Kitten release by Jane Jane Pollock! It's the 13th release on Flea Ridden Kitten.  This album is made up entirely of cover songs with introductions by Rusty Carter, Michael's Landlord from Thomasville, Georgia. The album is entitled "Dirty Covers, Stained Sheets", which is a collection that ranges from December of 2008 to August 2012. We released it September 2012 on a limited cassette run of only 33. Those 33 quickly ran out. For those of you who have them we included songs that are exclusively on the cassette that will never be released otherwise. We're still excited about these recordings and want them to be heard. So here they are for freeeeeeee!

Since meeting in 2010, Florida native Erin Murphy (guitar, violin, vocals) and Jersey-boy Greg Bortnichak (cello, vocals) have had a thing for testing the limits of impossibility. Together, they formed their first project (Bard and Mustache), played their first show, and recorded their first release in a (mostly) sleepless 48-hour binge. Between building an all-analog studio to accommodate their ever-increasing interest in sonic experiments, releasing 2 more EP’s, and touring consistently, the pace hasn’t let up much for them in the last few years.

Nowhere is this playful disregard for the laws of nature more apparent than in their music. In a 2012 interview, WMNF radio host Alastair St. Hill coined the term “Scrape Rock” to more adequately describe the duo’s affinity for exploring the shadow side of string instruments. This Week In Sarasota describes Teach Me Equals “scrape rock” as “A sexy, sinister sound… willing to talk the line between catchy, crafty, and cathartic.” The Orlando Weekly called it: “Venturesome,” adding, “opting for drama, melody, and spontaneity, they’re testing the bounds of pop music.”

The duo moved onto the road with a camper in July of 2013 and toured through June 2015 on their first album, "Knives in the Hope Chest," officially released 9/2014.  They began collaborating with Vern Rumsey (Unwound) via his solo project, "RedRumsey," and recorded a collaborative split in Seattle with Steve Fisk.  

After taking a year off to write and record new material, TM= refurbished their then-rotting camper and hit the road again in October 2016, releasing the split 12" 45RPM, "RedRumsey / Teach Me Equals," in December 2016 via Exotic Fever Records.
