Daughter - In The Shallows (demo)

This special edition B-sides of sorts is called "Of Epic Proportions" and is a closing thought to our record released this past August 2010, "The Disaster."  It is only available digitally, accompanied by a large screen printed poster, designed by yours truly. 

A little thought about each track:

Howling at the Moon// This is one of our new favorites to play live with layers of vocals and the thought of a werewolf being chased by the sun. It has a hint of the Orient with a hammer dulcimer played by our violinist Ben and wind chimes played by our booking agent and friend Jay Williams.

God and Me REMIX!!// As a team we put the opening song of our last record, God and Me, in a blender and poured out the goodness in a completely new tray. We love experimenting with braking up former melodies and creating tension using a new spin on elements that were once familiar to the listener. 

Animal// One of the first songs we wrote as a band. We love the gang vocals at the end of this one. It is sassy while exploring the world of a woman's need to be known. 

Casualty// Formerly called "Soldier Boy," we really explored new avenues with this one while we were in the studio. It expresses the hurt of a soldier away fighting a war and a mother's heart about the matter. Symbolic of living in a world that makes it easy to wonder what we are doing here, and where is God in it all.

Little Baby Sister// This is an acoustic song that reminds Kelsey and Gabe of the early years of the Kopecky Family Band. Sitting around with acoustic guitars and harmonizing in an open room to hear the organic echo of tile and wood floors. It's sweet and simple.

03 - Come on Home

Folk/alt outfit Wolf and Willow is here with their new release 'Falling'. The Melbourne duo stretches the boundaries of the folk scene as their new single takes a focus towards time vs trend. Written through a lens focusing on musicality and song writing that would hold up at any given point in time. Coupled alongside audio engineer Hayden Calnin (Didirri, Riley Pearce, Harrison Storm) and master by Steve Smart of Studios 301 (Tash Sultana, Cub Sport, Pierce Brothers), production wizardry and veteran mastering has helped capture the modern soundscape Australian audiences become so accustomed to seeking out. 
The lyrical inspiration for the song originated from the chaos and suffering life can sometimes throw at us. Instead we make the intentional choice to seek out loved ones which is reflected through their film clip produced by LP Creative. A dreamy escape of reality which captures a timeless love we're all pursuing in some capacity.
With several East Coast tours, festival appearances and an American adventure already under their belt their live performance remains the factor that captures people. Prepare for soaring vocals, captivating harmonies supported by an intricate balance of delicate instrumentation and an indulgence of guitar solo's. James and Tim's joyous, animated live performance captures their identity like nothing else and will take you on a rollercoaster of story and emotions.
The new single is a big step in maturation for Wolf and Willow. With their debut EP 'Born to be' released in 2016, this a big step forward for the boys who've already established an online following. The EP's lead single 'Seaside' climbed the Spotify charts to No.7 & No.11 in the Australian and US respectively. 
Keep your eyes peeled for more great sounds from Wolf and Willow. The Melbourne outfit are one to watch.
