Having been influenced by the sultry latin beats of South America, Raoul Zerna's musical roots can be traced back to his hometown of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Now residing in the growing dance music epicenter of Los Angeles, Zerna has become a very influential producer/DJ within the House music scene. Still early in his years, Zerna has accumulated over 50 releases and has performed throughout North America, Europe and South America, from the dance floors of Colombia to Spain. In his career, Zerna has shared the stage with some of today's most renowned dance artists, such as DJ Sneak, Bad Boy Bill, Tall Paul, DJ Dan, Eddie Amador, and DJ Keoki, amongst many others. 

Raoul Zerna started his musical journey at the age of 14. when he got his big break from a local radio station. Having only begun deejaying four months prior, Zerna entered the station's DJ contest, winning 2nd place over 200 other contestants nationwide. Not only was the DJ contest aired lived by the station, it was also broadcasted from one of LA's premier nightclubs, "The Dome", witnessed by an audience of 2500. 

Zerna's love for the hard and funky sounds of house and techno music drove him to start his own record label and production company, Tech-Asylum Recordings, becoming an outlet for featuring his favorite sounds. His single on Tech-Asylum, "Ecuador y Todo el Mundo", was rated the number 1 tune by the legendary Carl Cox in Muzik Magazine (UK) and was also featured on various compilations including, "Future Sound of Ibiza", mixed by Tall Paul, and was licensed to Duty Free Recordings (UK). Zerna's original production of Richard Vission's "Never let me down" on System Recordings, hit number 1 on the Billboard Club Play/Dance charts for 3 consecutive weeks. His recent singles have received recognition and support from the likes of Roger Sanchez, Rhythm Masters, and Carl Cox.

Always looking to bring his music to the music masses, Zerna draws more than just audiences from the underground dance circuit. "Whether I perform in the states or overseas, I love to see a variety of cultures congregating on the dance floor, dancing and breaking a sweat to the music I play," he explains.  "It proves to me that music is universal and transcends cultural barriers, and that's one of the biggest satisfactions I get out of being a DJ and producer." 

Producing techno, tech-house, latin-influenced beats and funky disco-grooves for labels worldwide, Raoul Zerna will be seen producing the freshest sounds in dance music and beyond for years to come. - Biographie :

Depuis le premier jour, Pupa Beral est bercé par la musique, influencé autant par le rock que la disco, c'est tout naturellement qu'il se dirige vers la musique électronique en 1994.
Avec son ami Manu aka Mosquito (nom de l'époque), les Perpignanais incarnent le second souffle de la scène underground , en organisant des tas de soirées déjantées...
Si Mosquito aka Manuel Moskavic (aujourd’hui), vogue principalement sur "la face funk", Pupa Beral se caractérise par des tonalités plus sombres et new-wave dans le mouvement : une techno groove et dynamique, résolument dancefloor, mais qui sera vite influencée par des sonorités plus mécaniques.

Mais, revenons en arrière. Au tout début. En 1976, naissance de Pupa Beral à Perpignan, et rien ne le prédestine à s'engager sur la voie de la musique. L'entourage familial n'est pas mélomane, personne ne joue d'instrument et seule la curiosité d'un chromosome erroné mène le garçon à la musique.
Dès son plus jeune âge, Pupa est attiré par la Blackmusic : Jackson Five, Prince, Chic...et bien sûr le punk-rock tels que les Status Quo ou The Clash. Le courant des deux est efficace dans sa maturité musicale avec un fait marquant en assistant à la der des der des Béruriers Noirs sur un contest de skate à Montpellier en 1990.

Puis viennent les années lycées, et une rencontre, déterminante, avec Manu Perez, lui aussi passionné par les sonorités black, hip-hop.
Ils débutent les soirées ensemble en créant la "NO NAME TRIBE" dans le sud de la France. Beral n'a alors que 17 ans et commence à mixer, en bidouillant sur un magnéto K7 et sur une platine sans pitch. L'acquisition de vraies platines se révélant indispensable pousse Beral à officier dans des soirées étudiantes, rave-party, soirées privées. club...etc.. D'autres courants le marqueront tels la techno américaine des Jeff Mills, Damon Wild…et de la vague Acid, la scène de Detroit, mais aussi d'artistes comme Marco Bailey, Ben Sims , Redhead...

2000, un tournant se produit en rencontrant au cours d'une soirée Val Grantom (Hard-club-rec), un bidouilleur de son, un virtuose d'originalité, passionné de musique électronique ; un compositeur associé à un Dj ne peuvent que devenir des artistes à part entière... Affinités musicales et amicales oblige, Pupa Beral se met à composer avec Val Grantom, le mélange est comme celui d'un cocktail Molotov...
Le projet Waft Prod était né.
Ils enchaînent les productions, les mixs de Pupa Beral à 3 Decks enregistrés au "Home Cooking Studio" dans le sud de la France. Sept soirées verront le jour dont la « Wargasmik » en 2005 et 2006 à Nantes." Le son de Pupa se peaufine, encré dans une techno hard groove teintée d 'influences old-school, il crée la Wargasm-records - tout un état d'esprit - et trouve une résonance auprès de Redhead pour la technique et style de mix, Arkus P pour ses mélodies , Wjh pour ses Loops Mekanik et Ben Sims pour son Hardgroove theory.
Son style oscille entre hard-techno mélancolique et tracks plus hardgroove. Longtemps connu pour ses mixs « Confidential édition », Beral qui est très ouvert musicalement pond des sets de plus en plus éclectiques, jouant tour à tour techno, hard- techno ou productions plus mélodiques…Le mélange de ces styles est réalisé avec subtilité, à l’instar de ces compositions. Au final, " Life is just One Music Breath ! "

But let's back up. At the beginning. In 1976, Pupa Beral born in Perpignan, and nothing predestined to embark on the path of music. The family environment is not music, nobody plays an instrument and only the curiosity of a chromosome leads the wrong boy music.

The project was born Waft Prod.
They strung productions, mixes Pupa Beral 3 decks recorded "Home Coocking Studio" in the south of France. Seven nights will emerge whose "Wargasmik" in 2005 and 2006 in Nantes. "Pupa The sound is polished, inked a hardgroove techno tinged with old-school influences, it creates Wargasm-records - all a state of mind - and finds resonance with Redhead in technology and style mix, Arkus P for his melodies, WJH for her and Ben Sims Loops Mekanik Hardgroove for his theory.
