Octave One drop the first of their new 2023 dance single ‘Tiers’ on their own 430 West Records. Debuting as part of their live set in 2022, first single ‘Tiers’ is already well sought after by clubbers and DJs worldwide. The fresh and future-facing 'Tiers' gets you on your toes as slick bass and sleek drum programming race on a warm wave of soulful techno.

Techno is in the genetic pulse of the Octave One brothers. Hailing from Detroit, Lenny and Lawrence Burden have been vanguards of the genre since its early innovation and continue to set the standard for dance floors. Their electrifying live performances showcase to audiences just what techno is made of: the synthesis of man and machine. The duo’s astounding array of analog gear, a mighty rig they call “The Mothership,” acts as a vessel of funk grooves, house riffs, and irresistible rhythms as they take dancers on a trip through musical literacy. With each live set, the formidable force accomplishes a feat few can conceive of in the studio, and even fewer are able to recreate live. This is why Octave One is techno’s unrivalled live act.

Two Dutch powerhouses Ferreck Dawn and GUZ team up for ‘Friends Around (Set It Off)’ on Defected Records. A welcome addition at many of the label’s seminal parties, Ferreck’s hard-hitting sound has taken him from Defected’s iconic NYE party at Wembley’s OVO Arena, to Miami Music Week and now their newly launched Ushuaïa Ibiza residency for summer 2024. Having built this incredible relationship with the London label thanks to a string of standout releases, most recently including a club remix of his collaboration with MEDUZA and Clementine Douglas, ‘I Got Nothing’, Ferreck Dawn returns alongside GUZ for ‘Friends Around (Set It Off)’. Also no stranger to the Defected family, GUZ’s recent DFTD release with Deeper Purpose and Dope Earth Alien ‘That Sound’ saw the chart-topping producer bring his malleable, club-ready sound to the masses after hit releases ‘Set U Free’ and ‘Thin Line’. Their latest outing showcases two producers who thrive on collaboration, with ‘Friends Around (Set It Off)’ spotlighting a massive, addictive vocal and bold synth instrumentation to create an instant summer classic.
