The process of Abattoir’s creation was both conflicting and emotional. Its composition spanned over a year since the label’s first release ‘Gore’, which chronicled the lead up to my mother’s death in late 2022. Continuing in the unexpected trajectory of a concept label, ‘Abattoir’ deals with my Mother and I’s final conversation, and then the onset of the fierce composite of drugs that were meant to anesthetize both her mind and body into her final moments. I chose to chronicle what I imagined this experience to be like.

‘Abattoir’ starts with a glitching arch of tragedy, extends into a brooding and bitter disconnect from reality, a psychedelic deluge of narcotic psychosis, a shutting down of cognitive reality, and a final blissful passage to the other side, up to her very last breath. The common themes of the album are its fragmented and granular layers and textures. I found these elements suiting to portray a person losing their grip on both the world and themselves. Death is often portrayed as sentimental, nostalgic, and conclusive. This EP transgresses from that portrayal to the one more grounded in reality…..death is slow, suffocating, bitter, and most of all…..solitary.

From day one, Gordo Trax has sought to help by bringing together producers of all kinds in a series of charity V.A. releases aimed at supporting local neighbourhood associations, animal welfare organisations, associations for people with special needs, and providing essential goods. "Germanor" is the Valencian word for "brotherhood," and in this second release, we unite international artists like Blawan & Wallis, Oscar Mulero, Lewis Fautzi, Nørbak, Peder Mannerfelt, Cora Novoa, and many others who have selflessly pitched in during such a difficult time for the city.
