Brighton-based producer Rene Wise is next to land on Setaoc Mass’ SK11_X offshoot, coming off the back of a batch of releases on Luke Slater’s respected Mote Evolver imprint and a recent collaboration with Rødhåd, with his own purist take on groovy yet hypnotic, minimal techno.  Wise offers four variations of precision-drilled rolling club-tools, first with the static-charged, tribal calls of Pleasure Note, to the bouncier, groove-laced ‘Swamp Dancer’.  On the flip side, ‘Hollow’ focuses the intensity, whilst ‘Changa’ completes the home-straight with its boundless energy and delirium inducing synth parts.

On remix duties, Joton puts his skilled touch on “Lack Of Focus” to deliver an edit that maintains the original vibe, but takes it to ‘heavier’ dimensions with the unmistakable sound and percussions from the Newrhythmic label head.

Slam drop the hypnotizing Wave Expansions EP on home label Soma. 

Glaswegian Techno pioneers Slam are back on @Soma with their first full EP release of 2024 with the stripped back and driving Wave Expansions EP. Hot of the back of their wildly acclaimed ‘Exhibit’ VAs, the duo once again stamp their authoritative sound across this expertly produced, 4 track EP. 

The EP closes out with ‘Bleak Runner’, offering densely packed atmospheric FX back another stripped back yet super effective and hard hitting track.

We are back with an EP from UK artist PYLOT that lands on LABURNŪM with two distinct tracks. "I'M ALWAYS" is a steady groover with classic vocals that heighten the tension, while "SK8TRK" offers a softer vibe with delicate synth stabs. On the B Side, Specific Objects turns "I'm ALWAYS" upside-down with a dub rework that retains the original's intensity, and Conntex reimagines "SK8TRK" with a stripped-down, minimalistic version. Coming from the debut Ep "Man Versus Machine" on Rkay's new "Aespheric" Imprint, Binary Code is a mental, rugged out track that represents the coding system which is binary. Although rough on its edges, this song embodies and creates a smooth yet chilling atmosphere that is highlighted through obscure synths, delayed voices and layered noise sequences that leads it to spiral in and out of a deep chaos.
