We are thrilled to share with you our second single. This time by Mexican talent “Nada”, a producer who will take you into a deep trip through his sound design and dark vibes.

This track lets us know that everyone has their own interior spirit and consciousness. When you cut the tree´s cortex, then you will find the sapwood [ALBURA in Spanish] which is the interior of the tree.

This single is accompanied by two different styled remixes from Tlazohtla (Mexico City) and Sebastian Gabriel (Berlin) each one made with their own point of view and creation.

'Retrospectivo' contains each of their original releases, com- plemented by a host of exceptional remixes from other key figures in the scene. The CDs were preceded by warmly welcomed new reissues of Terra and Fuego, stretching out over a luxurious 2+ hours of prime techno. 'Diablo' kicks things off, sounding as fresh as the day it was unleashed in 2008, and is accompanied by the Carlo Lio remix that pushes its muscular driving vibe into a new territory. Dios also appears with the rework from Jon Gaiser, via his Atheists Anonymous Remix, crystallizing the original’s 10 minute form into a taut, powerful six minutes of dance floor gold. The new track 'Humano' appears here in four glorious versions from the original via newer interpretations from Hatzler, SHADED’s Summer Skin Remix and the Victor Ruiz mix.

Kicking off CD2, 'Fuego' burns as brightly as ever with additional heat added by Julian Jeweil’s masterful remix, while 'Terra' gets the treatment by the ever dependable Joseph Capriati. Three different mixes each of 'Aire' and 'Agua' complete the package, with the combined talents of Matador, Peter Dundov and Detroit’s own Carl Craig rounding off the compilation in particu- larly fine style.

Both Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann have pursued their own paths that have seen them reach dizzying heights within the techno world, but these recordings and their expertly curated reworks will remain a benchmark for many.

As a special bonus, both the digital version and the Double-CD (via a download code) include an hour-long 'Retrospectivo'-mix by Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann.

One of the original Bassic Records artists, a true staple of the label, Käse Kochen has been a core part of the family since our very first compilation. One of the pioneering voices in the psychedelic crossover scene is the elusive producer/DJ Nozem, whose deliberate and unique style of psytech fusion has been getting over with fans and DJs for over a decade, demonstrating he was well and truly ahead of the times. We absolutely love his dedication to creating dance floor pleasing sonic journeys, and we invite you to come along for the ride with the impeccably produced 'Lost'. Rounding out the single/EP with force and grace in equal measure are 2 label regulars that were more than up to the task or reinterpreting Nozem's original. 

First up we have Portugal's dark progressive powerhouse duo of MNGRM, whose epic take on dark progressive leads us into a memorable night-time excursion filled with epic atmospheres and intense, driving basslines that will undoubtedly be rinsed heavily on future festival circuits. One listen and you'll hear exactly why these guys are at the top of the game!

We are absolutely thrilled to be revisiting one of the most iconic label tracks of the calendar year - the instant-classic 'Brainchild' by label OG's Luis M and MYDÄ gets the deluxe remix treatment from a host of top-shelf talents in Jossie Telch, Matt Dwellers, AXON and Biomass! Spanning wide across the Techgnosis sonic spectrum, three fresh interpretations elevate what is already an apex predator-level original track to new heights, setting the stage for yet another stellar scene release.

The marquee original track, having been written a year ago in MYDÄ's Toronto-based studio, is a super example of sonic synergy, combining the grit and chunk of the preeminent prog-tech duo's unique style with Luis M's groovy tech rhythms and production know-how. Tried and tested on the dance floors as well as over lockdown live-streams, this can't miss tune has already cemented itself as a bar-setting example of proper progressive, psychedelic techno. 

Mexico-based progressive master Jossie Telch is no stranger to working with the original artists - we last saw this superstar producer giving the remix treatment to Luis M's 'Euphoria' back in 2016, and who can forget his 'track-of-the-year' collaboration with MYDÄ, 'Atomicus' from 2018? Well, we are happy to welcome him back into the Techgnosis fold as he puts his singularly unique, dance floor-focused spin on the whole affair.

Last summer we debuted EPs from 2 incredibly talented Australian artists in Biomass and AXON, so it is with great excitement that we unveil their phenomenal collaborative remix of 'Brainchild'. The deeper, more introspective side of the original track is explored as the producers from down under beckon the listener to dive into a hypnotic state, and get lost in the music. This is an absolute treasure of a track.

Lastly, we are pumped for the triumphant label return of the minimal tech maestro known as Matt Dwellers - this well-known purveyor of the melodic and hypnotic side of techno music brings his expertise to the affair, elevating this already killer single/EP to new heights. His signature weaponized, chunky tech style has been missed, however you can look forward to more from Dwellers on Techgnosis in the very near future. Stay tuned, true believers!
