TF: What are currently your main challenges as a DJ? 
Minitech Project: My main challenge is being categorised by the term DJ (laughs). An influx of people who think they can dj via iTunes playing chart hits are miles away from what I do when I perform yet it is difficult to differentiate for promoters who are not DJS themselves. Also organizers, agents, promoters who want to take the stage themselves rather than promoting musical talent is the norm nowadays.
 
TF: What is it about DJ’ing, compared to, say, producing your own music, that makes it interesting for you?
Minitech Project: Djing for me has been and still is about promoting amazing musical talent aside from my own. I like to bring public awareness to great artists and labels aside from my own productions

TF: What are the most special moments in your artistic Career?
Minitech Project: Having my own productions played at Awakenings festival and Time Warp and by such amazing names as Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Karotte. Plus a residency at the best club night in the Netherlands. Helps to know I'm on track with my quality :)

TF: Take us with you on a perfect night out in Amsterdam. Where do we start, what clubs do we go to, where’s the after party? 
Minitech Project: Amsterdam is a city where every week and night is different. I would start at a bar or coffee shop and then head to a good techno event if there is one that night. After party depends on where the girls and dance floor fanatics are headed otherwise my own after party is in my studio preparing some new beats! ;)

TF: What’s one thing that people would be surprised to know about you? 
Minitech Project: Probably that I'm originally from India where I was also a Dj champion back in the day. In fact I'm the first Indian Dj to have ever held residencies in Amsterdam. Perhaps also surprising is that I was playing and promoting psy trance over 10 years ago and rocking the floor sometimes with 6 hour marathon sets!
