CMR001 takes the shape of a remix package of Overtake, from the man Coppa himself, featuring Adriana Hamilton. The first mix comes from the multi-talented Callide & Intraspekt. The remixers take the spirit of the tune, to keep strong and believe in everything you do, and add their unique, rave-busting  flavour.  The  intro will  draw you  i  n,  but  the  breaks  and synths  soon  drop,  adding weight  and  depth  to  the  already-huge  production.  The  clubs  will  lap  this  one  up,  as  Callide  & Intraspekt overcome any arguments with their heavy remix. 
Next up on the boards is Livewire, who takes things in a more liquid direction, bringing forward a piano line which fits perfectly under Coppa’s MC vocals and cut-ups of Adriana’s singing. The beats are rolling on this one, taking the track forward, heading straight for the heart and the mind. A real end-of-summer bubbler, Livewire brings something new and fresh out of the track as only he can  .
Lastly, Raise Spirit takes on the track, raising the bar once again, with a string-fuelled intro which morphs into some neat overdriven guitar. The bass is to the fore on Raise’s version, 
with  the  track  completed  with  a  major  headnodding  beat.  All  three  versions  are  going  to smash, so give them all a listen and choose your favourite.

Elevated far above the streets in one of the towering high-rise buildings that dominated the urban heart, the sound of the high-octane pursuit below barely penetrated the bleak musty cubical. Its cigarette-stained walls are etched with the marks he’d made to signify the passing of his life in this space. The ever-present hum of building’s servers that once he’d thought faintly pleasant, oppressively penetrated his eardrums - continually evolving… scraping the inside of his brain like sonic sandpaper. Flickering lights from the city’s exterior advertisements strobed across the dark sea of cubicles, the huddled occupants of each fixated on the faint glow of their viewscreens, their enslaved minds pouring over the flow of a sea of meaningless data. The lights hurt his eyes these days, each wave illuminating his dank space peaked his migraine – like shards of glass penetrating deep into the roots of his skull and twisting within his cortex on the way. He was at the edge, hovering on the very horizon of sanity itself… the boundary blurring – what was more insane – this existence? Or the one he desired – to tear himself free from the bonds of this reality… for his heart to burn with the light of a thousand stars as he steered his body towards the purity of presence outside of this slavery… to defy the great architect and stand proud just for a moment… Just as this thought manifested, he felt the tight grip upon his shoulder - briskly pulling him around to see the corrupt, fat, distorted face of the overseer sneering down through that twisted crevice of a mouth. Those chains broke – he felt his hand grasping the keyboard that he had been so long manacled to in his mind, moving with the rotation of the chair as he rose swiftly with the roar that escaped him so fluidly. The overseer’s shocked expression froze in time as the keyboard collided with his mouth – landing with such brutal force that the shockwave passed through his fat face. With that roar, he felt free… he had found himself.
 
SEGMENT & CONCEPT VISION follow up their incredible MAMMOTH EP with their 2nd impressive outing on neurofunk’s leading label, EATBRAIN. Proving once more the exceptional skill of their combined production with the 5 heavy-duty tracks of the ROAR EP (including free release with the vocal-led ‘EMPIRE’), the pair set the bar high through their powerful sound. Whether it’s the stuttering might of title track ROAR with its nightmare fueled arpeggios, or the dub-influenced sci-fi majesty of THIRST (featuring COD3X) - each track proves more relentless than the last. This is tear-out neurofunk at its best, proving once again the strength of the EATBRAIN sound and cementing another incredible pair of Russian producers within the roster.

There might only be a few releases under the Kronology
moniker, but the experience of the producers
formerly known as Slogun and iOh has shone through
nonetheless. Now, the LA-based duo are regular fixtures
on the set-lists of some of the biggest DJs in the scene.
Take Friction on Radio 1, for example. He’s supported
them since they first hit Technique and recently
premiered this very release. If you heard that (and if you didn’t, you’d better have a good
excuse) you’ll already know they’ve shoved the bar up another couple of notches. Mantra opens up into a world of atmospheric pads while a strident techy kick and reverberant rim-shots mark out the beat. It’s a hypnotic vibe which draws us in further as percussive tones augment the arrangement. As distorted edges of bass start to appear, though, it’s clear the trance-like meditative state is about to be shattered.
The tune drops like a martial arts move. Kronology capture the energy from the ethereal pads and turn it back on itself in the form of bass, using its force to punch through the calmness. The flow of the intro is converted into driving power. Call and response patterns switching between basslines, backed with break-laced drums, bring irresistible movement for the dancefloor.
It’s no surprise that Kronology are building a loyal fanbase among ravers and DJs alike. They consistently deliver heavyweight dancefloor killers with twists and turns that diverge from any known formula. And here’s another one that’s bound for raves and airwaves worldwide.

Bristol has often stood as a cultural hub for drum & bass, and from its pits comes Demigroove. Starting his musical career in the city, at just 22 years old, Demigroove has been gradually making his mark, working in sonic solitude over this next release until it personified his sound.

Honing his skills from none other than the legendary Raiden whilst studying music technology at University he now presents the evolution of his music is his single ‘Exile / Silicon’ on Deception Recordings, two tracks which epitomise what he’s about as an artist. What’s great about Demigroove is that he conjures his own world through intricate atmospherics and billowing musicality. Never going directly down one pathway, time and time again he builds from different sectors to create his own spectrum. And this single gives listeners a glimpse into what that is and why he’s become such a staple name within sets recently.

‘Exile’ starts off with a distorted bassline and fluctuating beat patterns, taking you deeper and deeper with each wavelength. Frequencies duck and dive, a bouncing march underpinned by kicking drums and clapping hi-hats. Infusing a cocktail of hard-driving, industrial notes and the kind of layers which only add to its tightly knit composition, Demigroove brings the noise with every bar. Smashing snare and intimate growling begin to slowly wind you in, with every dark crevasse of the mix providing yet more intimidating pitfalls to tumble into. If this is your first glimpse into what Demigroove has to offer, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Then on the flipside, you’re presented with ‘Silicon’. Demigroove demonstrates why he’s being watched by critics so diligently now, primarily because his output to date has been astounding for a relative newcomer. Once again, Demigroove catapults you into a dark yet versatile landscape, one filled with a whirlwind of snapping beats and firing drum kicks. Mysterious and enigmatic, the artist never shies away from the more daring side of production, plunging you into a construction line of bassline, crushing snare and peddled drums. You’re thrown into a crevase so tight, it’s difficult to pull yourself out from. And instead, you’re left to bask in the scene which Demigroove has built around you. One that you’ll soon find yourself unwilling to leave.

Joining the Viper family in 2014 after being actively sought out by label head Futurebound, BMotion has continued to impress and has already seen support from DJ Marky, Sub Focus, Netsky, and even Moby with his official remix of ‘A Simple Love’ earlier this year. Now, his latest work brings the year to a close with the aptly titled ‘Film Track’.

With a chilling, 8-bit intro that is instantly reminiscent of Stranger Things, BMotion once again showcases his mastery when it comes to building a suspenseful intro, sending shivers with every beat. Delicate synths give the track a haunting, 80s vibe, slowly layering new and distinct sounds right up until the drop.

‘Film Track’ then drops into a dark, heavy neuro sound that will assuredly destroy dancefloors everywhere. Continuing to layer in new sounds with every beat, the track constantly evolves to highlight BMotion’s sound design, which is nothing short of brilliant.
