For this mix I really wanted to lean into an exploration of some tracks that embody a distorted, acidic and hypnotizing energy. With tracks spanning decades regional styles, this mesmerizing mix celebrates the alternative universes we can traverse in the vehicle of freaky and otherworldly production.

Father Dukes has been involved in Detroit electronic music for over a decade and the powerful musical legacy of Detroit are deeply inspirational to her.

A Lana is the thirteenth guest of MISS DREAMZCAST, our weekly series celebrating the DJs we love as they grace us with the music that makes us smile and gets us dancing.

Alana Jordan, known by her artist name A Lana, is a brooklyn based deejay and talented up & comer in the New York City underground dance music scene. From her well-loved residency sets for the Flux party at bushwick staple-venue Bossa Nova Civic Club, to appearances at some of Brooklyns bigger clubs like Public Records, she has stood out for her deep & careful selection, symbolic storytelling, and sharp technical skill. All her sets are strictly vinyl, and her record collection runs the entire rainbow of dance music, but with firm roots in classic, uplifting house and disco. It comes as no surprise then, that her style is self-described as "always reaching deeper & deeper".

A few words about the mix: "this is my first true studio mix in a couple years, and it comes at a time when the existence and fabric of the things we cherish are increasingly threatened. I wanted this mix to reflect where I'm at as an artist in terms of technical development, but much more importantly, I set out to play songs that embody the freedom, togetherness and love that have always been the pillars of the dance music world. Reminders of strength, words of encouragement, and important affirmations that we have been dark places before, and we have always journeyed towards the light, together, as we will continue today as well as tomorrow. all my luv n' beats"  - A Lana

Kevin wanted to share a few words about his mix: 'This mix was recorded live for Honcho 12/14/24 @ Hot Mass following a stellar opening set by Clark Price. As it was the last gig of 2024 for me, I ended up playing a lot of tracks that I had the most fun playing out during the year, consisting primarily of newer house and UKG. Jacob Meehan's set at Lecken was the talk of the Play Pit. The WHOLE Ambient stage curator and Kwia mainstay shared a more intimate side of his collection with us. Dubbed out electronica merge with smooth throwbacks while ethereal jazz gets sprinkled with 80s synths, making us nostalgic for the age of our lost innocence. We swayed and swooned down memory lane, counting our blessings beneath the inverted crosses of the Play Pit sky, only to emerge again in the warm embrace of trusted friends or strangers, all within the breadth of @jacob-meehan's expertly concocted seance.
