Sooooooo... It begins again. A new year. A new chapter. A new mixtape series.

2015 was honestly the best year of my life so it’s safe to say I’m beyond excited to see what this year has in store. It’s already looking hectic on the gig front and in terms of new music I’ve been working on lots of projects and they’re fiiiiiinally gonna start dropping very soon! 

This mix contains 21 tracks that I'm feeling and as always from a variety of genres. I'm rinsing some of these bangers on the dance-floor right now and the others I'm just absolutely in love with.

My mixtape's are my 80 minute journey of music, my way to explore, express and share my passion. From all sub genres of house music to my outro's which usually go deep and downtempo, another kind of music I listen to religiously.

Searching for the music and then making them literally takes me days and days but mixtape making is something I really love to do. I hope you enjoy them as much as I love making them!

On August 22nd Rebekah returns to the fold with her second EP on Soma, following her 2015 debut ‘Confined Heart’. Staying true to her UK techno roots, the Berlin based artist delivers three monster cuts that exemplify her ferocious sound.

Title track ‘Anxiety’ has Rebekah firing on all cylinders as raucous synth sequences pulse through wild percussion, never seeming to let up and certainly taking no prisoners. ‘The Riddle’ continues with similar energy levels as Rebekah infuses pounding rhythms with straight up percussive elements, before taking a perfectly controlled dive into deeper elements - comprising short blasts of subtle pads that give a more emotive side to the track. ‘19 Grams’ rounds of the EP with a little more subdued start, but in true Rebekah fashion, the pace quickly intensifies as shattering hi hats and saw tooth sequences blast in, effortlessly held together by beautifully gliding pads that give a perfect structure. 

Rebekah delivers yet another excellently crafted EP that defines her sound as a producer and also a DJ.

As we gradually build toward the release of Rebekah’s debut album on Soma, the hard hitting DJ/producer drops her 3rd single in the shape of the Code Black EP. Rebekah is on somewhat of a frenzied run of form at the moment with not only an exhaustive touring schedule but a slew of releases that stand as a testament to her dedication to Techno. 

Title track Code Black hits the ground running with ice cold percussion and thunderous kicks running the show before a more jacking vibe is introduced backed by some seriously perilous pads. Disaster looms even more as Relapse Paradigm tears in next with clunking beats and straight percussive workouts as screeching synths and hooks give an overall foreboding atmosphere. X Confessions closes out the EP in no less vicious terms and Rebekah sets out on the warpath utilising pulsing rhythms and calamity inducing sequences to really rip into the dance floor.

With each release, Rebekah hones her skills and never fails to deliver her very best.

Premiere: Reform 'Checkmate' (Amelie Lens Remix)

After some releases on several interesting label in the techno scene, Reform make return to Etruria with their strong new ep called 'Checkmate", which includes two remixes from the Soma talent Charles Fenckler and the Belgian Amelie Lens . First original is a melodic track characterized by hypnotic synths which interchange everytime in the arrangement and also dirty and powered drums. Amelie version's express exactly her style, giving to the tracks something magic with the vocals added, making a very true and enigmatic game of chess. Second original instead is dominated by a strong pad, which fill up the mix, blowing up in the break and giving an epic feeling to the ensemble. Charles's remix is techno with no excuses: raw powerful and groovy, is the perfect end for this pack, giving a much more underground touch to the release.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Dedicated to techno and its associated sub genres, Intec is also a label that champions artists both new and old, and its latest release is the return of Glasgow based Luca De-Santo.

Luca De-Santo made his Intec debut in January of this year, and following a huge amount of support he is already making his much anticipated follow up.

His first EP picked up support from the likes of Oscar L, Spektre, Karotte, Ramiro Lopez, Sasha Carassi plus many others, and sticking to the same style, this EP also fuses tough percussion with melody rich synths that drive the powerful grooves.

Carl Cox has always championed fresh talent and its clear that Luca De-Santo's place in the Intec family is only going to grow larger as this talented artist progresses his career.

The thundering kick and intense synths of False Dedication are the perfect way to open the EP, as the tracks dramatic tension and building momentum has a captivating aggression perfect for any dancefloor.

Roll With Me takes things deeper and darker with eerie atmosphere pulled into the light by the rising euphoria of the lead synth. Epic in every sense of the word, the track's developing sense of urgency is augmented by the powerful bass notes that groan and growl like a hungry beast.

Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail welcomes an imprint debut from BEC who after making a name for herself on Pan-Pot’s Second State has also releases on Carl Cox’s Intec amongst others of a high calibre.

BEC is one of techno’s leading ladies quickly rising through the ranks of the genre, and with this EP she becomes a part of AnalyticTrail’s roster of artists which already includes the likes of Joseph Capriati, Flug, Matt Sassari and Luigi Madonna.

Originally from the UK but currently based in Berlin, she is also a popular DJ still relatively early in her career and has already played in many parts of the world as far flung as Australia.

Each of the four tracks brings something different to the EP with the title cut having morphing acid and a captivating vocal sample that gives it its title. Still dark and pounding “Eclipse” is a trippy take on a similar set of sounds with the addition of a grinding bassline, and “One Chance” closes things with its melodic synth stabs layered with industrial percussion.

Once again Thomas and Tassilo are back and this time they come direct with three fierce cuts of proper, intense Techno. The trio of tracks all embody the heavy, dark, and psychedelic moments of wild club moments and warehouse nights, yet all three tracks take a different approach to arrive with the same intention. 'Radio Berlin' kicks things off as a hefty and infectious groove sets the stage for a swirling hypnotic tone that weaves through strong blasts of cinematic tones and booming percussion shots in a slick, spell binding ride. Following suit but turning up the intensity and adding a bit more of an abrasive touch, 'Deutsche Welle' veers into truly sinister territory where mischievous arpeggios and breakneck percussion thrive on a backdrop of eery atmospherics, flawlessly creating a rave detonator. The final addition to the EP is definitely the deepest and most trippy campaign of the trio: 'Kanal 7' is an absolute burner with an intensely addictive groove of rolling low end. Lush, spooky tones hypnotize and wildly dynamic patterns of unshakable percussion keep it ever evolving, forging a versatile and nostalgic tune with massive results.
