Dahl is one of the guys behind the Swedish Technoduo Nord & Dahl.
The guys released music on Melodark Records, Autektone and YOMO Record to name a few. They even got the chance to do a remix for T78 to be officially released.
Dahl upholds residency in 2 bars and 1 nightclub in His hometown Malmoe, Sweden.
Music has been his passion since a young boy. When he was 9 one of his neighbors was a DJ and that is where the interest in music started.
When he was 13 he met a producer who inspired him to start doing his own music.
DJing entered Dahlś life later in life. Not untill he was 35 did he ever touch a mixer or a CDJ for that matter.
Fast learning and dedication made Dahl come a long way in short time.

For episode 13, we have Mattias Dahlbäck known as Dahl, started his journey in the early 2000s producing trance.
in the beginning he kept himself to himself getting familiar with the daw’s of his choice,  and finding inspiration not at least from the ”big boys” of the genre. M.I.K.E Push, Ferry Costen, Bervoets, De Goeij Tiesto and many more.

As the journey continued his heart started to beat fast and hard for techno, deephouse and techhouse, which led him to the DJ-booths across Malmoe, Regensburg and Copenhagen.
One could say that his DJ career is starting take off really good now with his brand new residency at one of the oldest clubs in Malmö were they finally opened up a new dancefloor dedicated to underground music.
Dahls producer skills is also starting to take shape, so much that he actually releases music on labels all over the world  such as Eclipse Recordings, Sonaxx Records and Red Channel Records too mention a few.


Interview with Dahl: 

Q: Why did you start DJing?
A: I stumbled into DJing purely by chance. I started hanging out at Etage and one of the resident DJs, Anders Stedtzon, caught my interest. Whenever I was at clubs, I had a party trick - my LED glasses. I always stood out with them. He constantly pestered me about where I got them, but I didn't want to reveal it until the day he asked if I wanted to learn, and of course, I couldn't say no. The deal was that I had to disclose where I bought them. Said and done, suddenly I was a DJ at Etage.

I always had a vision that one day I would learn the art of mixing songs, but I never knew how or when.

Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Diverse, rich, and lively.

Q: Your best set in 2023?
A:The opening weekend for The Cage at Etage was magical, but my best performance ever was in Regensburg in 2022.

Q: Your favorite track right now?

A: When I'm out performing, Space Laces - Dominant VIP is a truly powerful track to close with. But for everyday listening... that's a tough one to answer.

Q: A track you never get tired of?
A: M.I.K.E. Push & Rank1 - Juno

Q: Where can one find the best falafel in Malmö?
A: Do people still eat falafel? I've often passed by Falafel nr1, located between Rosengård and Persborg, and always think that someday...

Q: A Malmö DJ you want to highlight?
A: My mentor who taught me everything I know. He deserves more than he got the chance to experience. Unfortunately, his passion for DJing was extinguished during the pandemic. Anders 'DJandy' Stedtzon.
