We welcome the Italian artist Sardu with his Astris EP on Mirror Records. The title track Astris consists of a dark vibe punctuated by a high and haunting melody creating a very thrilling and captivating experience. The second track Polarity takes a more straightforward approach with a more repetitive melody, strong drums and heavy bass. On the flip side of the EP are two individual remixes of Astris. The first one by FREYA features many additional atmospheric elements and a captivating bassline. The second remix by Gizmo & Mac takes the listener straight into a shady warehouse rave full of bass, sweat and strobes. All in all, this is a heavy techno release not to be missed!

Still beaming from the hugely successful international release of the first two volumes of Techno Monkey Remixed back in July, Berlin-based techno maven and Kuukou Records label boss Simina Grigoriu now completes the immense remix album, as she announces the final three artists set to wrap up the ambitious nine-track project. Due for worldwide release on Friday December 3, Techno Monkey Remixed Vol. 3 sees Simina welcome a collection of label friends new and old, as Hollen, Skober and DESNA pull out all the stops to deliver their own inimitable versions of the iconic original production.

Commencing the third and final three-part package with an emphatic opener is none other than Italian techno legend and Prospect Records label head, Hollen. Having invited Simina to his imprint for her impressive Line Runner EP in 2020, the favour is now reciprocated as Hollen steps up to unleash an incredible seven-minute interpretation, building in intensity across its duration and setting the tone for the remainder of the EP.

The second track on the package comes courtesy of flourishing Ukrainian artist Skober. Making his eagerly anticipated debut on Kuukou armed with an arsenal of techno weapons on labels including Terminal M, Respekt Recordings and Reboks (to name a few), the in-form, in-demand producer now continues his prolific onslaught with a heady blend of thumping kick drums, hypnotic synth lines and a plethora of exquisitely layered samples.

Last, but by no means least, we see the fond return of US producer and Kuukou label favourite DESNA. Following the critically acclaimed release of her three-part Frou Frou EP back in 2020, the über-talented New Yorker now returns with one of her finest records to date, as she effortlessly blends rolling basslines, trippy samples and intricately layered percussion to close out a truly remarkable nine-part project on the esteemed Berlin-based imprint.

'Distant Shades' is the brand-new throbbing club burner from 'Mesotec'. Whether it's the driving delicious uplifting melodies and dramatic drums of 'Distant Shades', there can be no denying that Mesotec is on a roll. His distinctive style and attention to detail marks him out, as having unique creative talent. For the full-length release, we are treated to stunning reworks from non-other than Georgi Adi & Erso. 

We kick things off with the original track, which brings a fusion of deep bass tones, driving drum programming and cleverly chopped samples. Mesotec expands the arrangement with intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a massive breakdown before rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of kicking, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline to close out this massive production that will cause havoc on the dancefloors of the world. Cool stuff!

First up on remix duty we see the debut of Greek maestro George Adi on ICONYC Red. He delivers a sound journey, oozing of coolness, accentuated by driving sounds that feel like a blanket of sonic techno spheres, which wrap you into an alluring soundscape without losing the energy of the original. This excellent rework firmly proves George's superb production chops and diverse musical tapestry, if prove was ever needed. Absolute massive remix from George Adi that should not be missed! 

The second remix comes from Erso whose releases on Set About have been doing the business on the dance floors of the world. This remix flows with ease from the instant it starts, encapsulating a wealth of cool beats which are present throughout, as well as driving sounds that are met with a big low end creating a timeless bubbler that will make you move. Erso has taken the essence of the original and wrapped it in a blanket of techno grooves to cause havoc with your senses.
