About the VA
Mahakali (Sanskrit: Mahākālī, Devanagari: महाकाली), is the much revered Hindu mother goddess of time, death and doomsday.
She is the divine Goddess of the Universe in her most fearful and powerful form. She is also the consort of Mahakala, the god of consciousness, the basis of reality and existence. Mahakali in Sanskrit is etymologically the feminized variant of Mahakala or Great Time (which is interpreted also as Death), an epithet of the god Shiva in Hinduism. Kali and all her forms are the different manifestations of Mahakali.
Mahakali's origin is contained in various Puranic and Tantric Hindu Scriptures (Shastra). In these She is variously portrayed as the Adi-Shakti-Goddess Durga, the Primeval Force of the Universe, identical with the Ultimate Reality or Brahman. She is also known as the (female) Prakriti or World as opposed to the (male) Purusha or Consciousness, or as one of three manifestations of Mahadevi Durga (The Great Goddess) that represent the three Gunas or attributes in Samkhya philosophy. In this interpretation Mahakali represents Tamas or the force of inertia. She is described as an abstract energy, the yoganidra of Vishnu. Brahma invokes Her and She emerges from Vishnu and He awakenes. She is the Goddess of time.

For Cerrone's new EP "afro" to be released 12th february, LeonxLeon from our crew Les Yeux Orange was asked by his record company, Because Music, to do an official remix of this track, Funk Makossa, taking it's roots in Manu Dibango's classic track from 1972, "Soul Makossa". Our man LeonxLeon managed to keep the afro vibe while giving it a balearic house touch by twisting the bassline, to finally give it away and drop an acid line. Hinkstep is an experimental downtempo project filled with psychedelic sounds and love for family and nature of Jonas Tegenfeldt – a talented musician and audio engineer born and raised in the northern part of Sweden. After discovering the “other side” of Infected Mushroom’s groundbreaking album Converting Vegetarians, Jonas was hooked on the manifold possibilities of downtempo psychedelia. His boundless experiments in the years that followed eventually gave rise to a refreshingly eclectic style further influenced by the likes of Porcupine Tree and Younger Brother.

Curtis Newton (GrenzFrequenz // Rote Sonne // München) presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.107

In dieser Ausgabe haben wir uns den sympathischen Curtis Newton eingeladen, seines Zeichens DJ / Produzent & Veranstalter aus Leidenschaft. Alles begann 1996 in seinem kleinen Zimmer im elterlichen Haus in Mühldorf nahe der österreichischen Grenze, welches er nach und nach in ein kleines Studio verwandelte und sein Spielzeug nannten sich Synthesizer & Drumcomputer. Er hat das Handwerk also von der Pieke auf gelernt, im Fußballjargon würde man von einem klassischen Straßenfußballer sprechen. 

Wie es dann immer so ist wenn man älter wird, irgendwann wird es einem alles zu klein und man zieht hinaus in die weite Welt. In seinem Fall hieß die nächste Station München, wo er 2008 sein eigenes Label „GrenzFrequenz“ gründet und beginnt eigene Partys in den verschiedensten Locations der Stadt zu veranstalten. Mittlerweile ist er Resident im legendären Club „Rote Sonne“, in dem er auch regelmäßig selber veranstaltet. Dies führte in den letzten Jahren dazu, dass Curtis Newton derzeit in ganz Deutschland zu sehen und zu hören ist. Auch als Produzent kann Curtis mittlerweile mit Releases auf MIYAGI´s Label Rennbahn Records und dem Kölner Techno-Label Jannowitz Records bereits einige Erfolge vorweisen.  

Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle bei unserem lieben Freund Curtis für sein brillantes Set für unsere Reihe bedanken, mit dem wir euch nun maximalste Unterhaltung wünschen.

Zwischen der anfänglichen Berechnung des Arbeitsaufwandes zur Leergutentsorgung und dem finalen Jubel, der mit der restlosen Entfernung jeglichen Staubes einhergeht, stößt Baba Sikander in diesem Drama auf vielfältige Herausforderungen, die ihn zum Schwitzen, Verzweifeln, Taumeln und Halluzinieren aber auch zum Weitermachen, Durchziehen und Lachen bringen. Währenddessen werfen Techno Frühstück ein paar verstaubte Bierkästen aus dem Fenster - zur genaueren Untersuchung von Kraft mal Weg versteht sich.

Eigentlich wollten wir diesen Sommer mit euch 10 Jahre Meeresrausch feiern. Stattdessen steht die Welt Kopf. Kein Festival, kein Jubiläum, keine Ekstase. Trotzdem gibt es Dinge, die unser Herz hüpfen lassen: Ab 11.06. gibt’s auf allen Portalen mit der »Meeresrausch Festival Compilation 2020« die allererste Veröffentlichung bei Meeronauten Musik! Ein wilder Trip durch Tag und Nacht – und einmal quer durch unsere 10-jährige Geschichte. Mit alten und neuen Gefährten. So bunt wie unser Festival selbst: von Four-to-the-Floor-Krachern über Dubstep und Downbeat bis hin zu Sprachsample-Spaß. Und ganz ehrlich: Das ist doch genau das, was wir alle jetzt dringend gebrauchen können. Also lauscht und tanzt mit uns, habt Spaß – und bleibt gesund und munter! Nächstes Jahr tanzen wir dann alle zusammen zu den Tracks ... die Füße im Sand, einen Drink in der Hand. Aloha!
