Stockholm, Sweden/Toronto, Canada, April, 2015 — Long regarded as a purveyor of modern progressive house, Jeremy Olander has carved out a unique place in electronic music. With a repertoire that ranges from deep progressive house to vocal compositions to tough, drum-heavy techno, Jeremy is a perfect fit for the microCastle label.

This unique balance of crossover appeal and underground reverence has earned him support from Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Henry Saiz, John Digweed, Nicole Moudaber and BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong. As a former primary contributor to the Pryda Friends imprint, he went on to be the first artist other than label boss Prydz to appear on the acclaimed Pryda Recordings; his 'Jackie' EP went straight to No.1 on the main Beatport Top 100 Releases chart, ousted Aphex Twin from the top spot and stayed there for 10 days.

Much like microCastle, Jeremy has never been influenced by musical trends, choosing instead to follow his own path. Jeremy's EP is entitled ‘Goliath’ and includes three brand new original productions alongside a remix from label artist Marc Marzenit (the first ever official remix on an Olander record).

‘Goliath’ has become one of Jeremy's most sought after creations since its appearance on his and Prydz’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. A fusion of new school progressive and contemporary techno, its cavernous groove goes down as one of this year's biggest bass line hooks, underpinning analogue-style melodies and cutting edge sound design.

The EP's second and third offerings, ’Groover’ and ‘Bayhert’, find Jeremy crafting two of the most infectious productions of his career. The former features scintillating rhythms, waves of electronics and haunting vocal elements, the latter presents a tougher, darker and more techno inspired sensibility.

The remix of 'Goliath' is provided by microCastle mainstay Marc Marzenit, fresh from the release of his 'To Love Until We Say Goodbye' album on Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris, along with projects for Bedrock and Tronic, all of which have been met with both critical and commercial success. He’s stripped the original right down and reinvented the main elements into his own stadium sized techno behemoth.; the result is one of Marc's most dynamic remixes to date.

Jeremy's unique production touch has yielded many dance floor classics over the years and 'Goliath', 'Groover' and 'Bayhert' are sure to be three of his biggest in 2015.

Dutch master Paul Hazendonk returns to the label with 'The Thoughts'. His last outing back in November of 2016 was received to high acclaim. On his long-awaited return to ICONYC, Paul delivers a slice of early spring vibes titled ‘The Thoughts’. 

The original kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth which are an integral component in the Paul Hazendonk production sound, as melodic techno, deep and progressive house are closely tied to sensations ranging across the spectrum from melancholy to delight.

Framewerk, famed for their intricate and refined productions created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we have Kamilo Sanclemente & Golan Zocher, who have been tearing up dance floors with their recent productions. They keep the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear yet sounding fresh - This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

"The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Victor Ortiz aka The Note V to the label for his debut EP. Since first appearing in 2012, the Mexican artist has found a home on Bar25, Manual Music and Steyoyoke where his unique take on melodic techno has flourished. Now following a remix for Sounds Of Earth, the Mexico City resident lands on Movement with 'Equilibre' alongside remixes from Magitman and Bessiff.

Beginning with the title track, The Note V collaborates with French artist Bessiff who is best known for this releases on Aftertech Records, Traum and Inner Symphony. Bringing their creative talents together the duo craft a slice of cosmic techno to set the mood of the EP. Backed by a warm yet punchy groove, it’s fragmented arps, buzzing synth swells and astral stabs fill in a framework as the first act unfolds. Timely modulation elevates the mood before smooth chord changes shift the narrative into emotive territory across an ethereal break and radiant finale. The companion piece 'Eclipse' finds The Note V collaborating with Sergio Oyarvide whom he worked with once previously on an EP for KDB Records. Following a similar sonic ethos to its predecessor, the duo build a narrative of emotive bass swells, playful arps and cosmic creativities. It’s spongy kick and perfectly sculpted bass flow with a wonderful warmth, as subtle shades and tones trail across the framework. The main break adds just the right amount of emotion to keep it’s exquisite vibe fully intact, before effortlessly shifting energy into a purring finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Equilibre' is provided by Magitman who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. The Israeli artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground for well over a decade and that extensive experience is always evident in his work. Now a regular on Beat Boutique and Proton Music, he returns to Movement with a stunning take on 'Equilibre'. Remarkably fluid and undeniably modern, it’s a mix that stays true to the delicate themes from the original, while adding a progressive essence through charming musicality and redolent rhythms. Timeless and emotive, the main break brings impassioned moments before pulling back for a tasteful drop and groovy final act."
