|AEON025| TVA - Stolen Jacket (Original Mix)

Following on from Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’ that landed earlier on in the year, Rekids assembles three colossal remixes from Rødhåd, Obscure Shape & SHDW and Johannes Heil.

Rødhåd’s remix leads the package with tantalising synths, filtered effects and stuttering percussion that together assist in generating an impending tension.

On the flip, Obscure Shape & SHDW immediately drop cavernous kicks before the original’s distinguishable pads brighten up an otherwise dark and sinister aesthetic. Tying up the package, Johannes Heil’s ethereal rendition echoes throughout providing a deep and mesmerising conclusion.

After his "Spazieren“ EP Abstraxion just released his second album named "She Thought She Would Last Forever“, which will be accompanied by a huge remix package on November, 14th. Alongside remixes from the likes of Tuff City Kids, Clarion, Vessels, Eduardo De La Calle and Cleveland, it will contain a treatment of Danish DJ/Producer Kasper Bjørke. Kasper, primarily known for his deeper sounds shows his tougher side.

Before i started my festival season this year, i went to the studio in Berlin and recorded some tracks for my sets. 
These two tracks i´ve been playing again and again, so they became the soundtrack of my summer. 
They are as hypnotic and freaky as my DJ sets are. I used some of my favorite instruments, the 303, the 909 and the Minimoog to create two tracks full of murky, distorted vocals, strange breaks and pure drastic emotion in beat form. 

This record is my definition of the Allien sound. 

One of my recent projects is Vinylism, where i play vinyl sets in some of my favorite record stores all around the world. I started with Lucky Records Island, then Discos Paradiso in Barcelona and will continue at Ultrasuoni Rome, Smallville Paris and Phonica London.
Also my radio show Braincandy, is back on Ibiza Sonica, as a one hour mix every Monday from 7 - 8pm. 
And I´m touring with my „We Are Not Alone“ events, where i invite my favorite artists to play with me. Next Station is the ADE week in Amsterdam and Magda, Cassy and Johanna Schneider will join me. 
In Berlin, my favorite place is IPSE at the moment. We had a few amazing BPitch partys there this year, good times in the little warehouse and the beautiful garden on the riverside...

B2. Gëinst - Unstable Thought

Following Dany Rodriguez's debut album, 'Galaxies Compared' released on RMR in September is the 'Galaxies Compared Remixes EP' featuring reworkings by Ben Long (Space DJz) and German Techno legend Alexander Kowalski, as well as an exclusive new track by Dany. Recording now for over a decade, Belgium's Dany Rodriguez has released a series of EPs for labels such as Kombination Research, MBR, Bush, MB Elektronics, Destination, Bulletdodge, Phobiq and his own RMR label, where his techno and electronic sound has developed and flourished, culminating in his recent long-player. This remix EP opens with two interpretations of Dany's album track 'November' by Ben Long who has been concentrating on solo work m ore recently with EPs on labels like Restructured, GND and EPM Music. His first remix raises the tempo of the original into a tougher techno groove while still maintaining its delicate strings and melody, while his second version layers its blissful tones over a broken beat with a hint of electro styling. From his beginnings as DisX3 on Tresor to a host of EPs and albums for Kanzleramt, Alexander Kowalski has built a high reputation for elegantly fusing elements from classic Detroit and the historical Berlin techno sound. Here he takes the shimmering title track from Dany's album and turns in a crunching, high-octane dancefloor workout that dives in and out of its many layers. To complete the package Dany Rodriguez delivers 'Find The Way', a new track that's exclusive to the remix EP yet fits perfectly with the deep, spaced-out appeal of 'Galaxies Compared.

We picture this one like a motorcycle ride to hell, chugging and militant by design, it's like something out of Mad Max or Ghost Rider. The basslines are thick and they pound with intent while piercing, unnerving synths trickle in alongside unpleasant chords that stab in-and-out of focus.

Fur Coat return to Crosstown Rebels - the label that launched and empowered them to grow into the major techno force we know today, with their ’Numbers EP, featuring a remix from US native Vin Sol. This is music that keeps you guessing. Initially it appears dark and forceful, and suddenly a sound appears that results in a smile, a warm feeling that only the highest level of production can deliver.

Fur Coat’s schedule is unrelenting. The last couple of months involving a standout set at DGTL Festival, releasing on Watergate Records, remixing Nicole Moudaber & Skin on Mood Records, combined with numerous festival appearances over the Summer. Resident of the popular night Club Lonely in San Francisco, Vin Sol, founded an imprint with the same title earlier this year. A self confessed lover of the drum machine and regularly collaborating with Matrixxman, Sol has previously released on Soo Wavey, Clone Jack for Daze and Delft among others.

The closure of fabric has seen a reaction that has been completely humbling and overwhelming to all of us on the team here, from over 150,000 signing a petition of support to raising in excess of £300,000 in donations to help our legal fight.

Support has come from every corner of the industry, with fundraising events at a number of different venues being held up and down the UK. This response perfectly encapsulates everything the electronic music community represents.

Both fabric Records and our artist led label Houndstooth decided a release that embodies this spirit would be a further powerful way to demonstrate the collective power of our community. We asked artists associated with both labels to donate a track to the cause, needing to act fast we gave a deadline of just 3 weeks in total, from inception to final master. The brief was simple, we asked for a previously unreleased track, either brand new or an alternative version of an old classic.

The response has been far greater than we could have ever anticipated, with an array of amazing artists delivering stunning tracks. Given this generosity every track that has been submitted is featured on the release, meaning an incredible 111 tracks make up the final running order, presented in alphabetical order.

Due to touring and time constraints many more artists could and would have like to have been involved, and we can’t give enough thanks to all the labels that have generously allowed their artists to contribute.

In the era of the playlist, this compilation represents a comprehensive overview of electronic music from the outer fringes of experimental explorations right through to music aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

Ahead of the court date which will determine the long term future of fabric nightclub we’d like to present this compilation as a document of this moment in time but also as the perfect embodiment of everything fabric is and stands for.

Rødhåd's label has gone from strength-to-strength recently and the trajectory of the imprint has sky-rocketed in line with the German's booming popularity. Drumcell, Alex.Do and John Hester have all dazzled with EPs this year but it's Monoloc's album that's the label's jewell in the crown.

You can stream the premiere of 'Muted' that's been taken from 'The Untold Way' and unsurprisingly it's a slab of cold, metalic techno that punches and slams with malicious intent. Exciting times for Borchardt and indeed Dystopian.

Soma proudly present the first in an exciting series of releases to celebrate 25 years at the top of electronic music as we turn to some of our favourite modern artists to reinvent some of the best from the back catalogue and up first is Envoy’s timeless classic, Dark Manoeuvres. Originally released as part of the “Coalition EP’ in 1996 (which also featured the classic Seawall), Hope Grant’s instantly recognisable hit is still found in nearly every Techno DJs record box and has continually served as a beacon of Soma since it’s release Four new versions are served up here as Dax J, Norman Nodge, Obscure Shape & SHDW plus Tensal all deliver fine interpretations of this Soma classic.

Dax’s furious style is the opener as he uses the original chords as they were intended but all the time firing his concussive drum patterns directly to the dance floor. Ostgut Ton’s Norman Nodge turns in a delectable dub version in only the way he can by keeping Envoy’s original muted and delivering a subtle, introverted version. The duo of Obscure Shape & SHDW are next up and delivery one epic take on Dark Manoeuvres. The pair build the tension early, teasing the strings then unleashing an onslaught, adding their own beautifully led, string section before hammering home. PoleGroup’s Tensal closes out our first Soma 25 releases, twisting and cutting the hook to suits his means as thunderous beats work away behind this solid tool.

With much more on the horizon, Soma has their gaze fixed firmly on the future of Techno
