Mit der Nummer 62 unserer Podcast-Reihe möchten wir euch Ilse & Ronski, zwei Talente mit aktuellem Wohnsitz in Dresden vorstellen. Ilja hat einige Zeit in Budapest und Ron in Zürich verbracht, dadurch sind die beiden auch in der jeweiligen Clubszene keine Unbekannten mehr. Ron hat in Dresden den „Szenenwechsel“ etabliert, dort geben sich regelmäßig Kater und URSL-Acts die Klinke in die Hand. Ilja ist Teil des Floppy-Kollektivs, welches erst kürzlich mit „Zebra Centauri“ und ihrer Ochsenfrosch EP für Aufsehen gesorgt hat. 
Aufmerksam wurden wir auf die beiden bei einer Veranstaltung von „Wannda“ in München. Sie haben dort mindestens genauso überzeugt wie mit ihrem Podcast für uns. Ihr aktuelles Werk bietet viel Abwechslung von hypnotischen Klängen über treibende Beats bis hin zur Ekstase. Wir wünschen viel Spaß mit dem knapp 73 Minütigen Hörvergnügen!

Marquis Hawkes is back on Houndstooth with a considerable punch, ladies and gents. After a string of tuff-as-nail releases on the imprint — including Sweet and Raw Materials — his debut album is now complete. 

Social Housing, as you'll soon learn, is an ode to not-for-profit, association-managed social housing in Berlin; a system that us Brits could learn a thing or two from, but that's another matter. "Fantasy" does exactly what it says on the tin, providing the sonic equivalent of someplace euphoric and sun-splashed during mid-August. Although firmly four-to-the-floor territory, the funk and disco influences are hard to ignore here. Cascading hi-hats, shiny arp work and detuned trumpet blares all coalesce to make this a real jam. That and those chopped-up vocals that Todd Edwards would appreciate.

This is very much Hawkes' own though; soulful and jacking in all the right amounts, and part of a project that's been two years in the making. It comes complete with artwork that's as thought out and auroral. Drawn from a photo taken by Hawkes’ wife in East Berlin, Alan Oldham's (aka DJ T-1000) visual accompaniment is spot on.

Marquis Hawkes' debut album arrives on June 10 2016. Sooth your ears with "Fantasy" until then.

Nine releases under their belt, and still, ItaloJohnson keep up the invisibility act. Dance music's most inconspicuous production/DJ trio maintain their enigmatic persona, as they present ITJ10. After almost a yearlong absence, they are marking the anniversary of release no. 10 by switching up their white labels to black.

As was expected, their press release leaves a lot to the imagination, merely stating that the boys "are, in fact, the Ghostbusters." Needless to say, their tenth catalogue number is made up of two absolutely blinding constructions for the dancefloor. Following the typical ITJ rhetoric, the opening "ITJ10 A1" needs near-to-no explanation – flaunting some of the biggest club music sounds we've heard from the anonymous three-piece. Heady synth chords and an insatiable drum beat that kicks you right in the face. It's pretty impossible for this track not to possess you instantly. Who you gonna call?
