To bring our two years anniversary to a point we have prepared something a bit special this time. From all across Europe our residents have worked together to present you a special 5-hour long podcast to present the styles we have explored each on our side during this year. Bringing these musical perspectives together seemed to be the best way for us to create something as close to possible to an actual event. With this being said it’s your turn now. Meet a few friends in a park with a BT speaker, dance alone in the cellar or go on a hike with your headphones and let us take you back to these beloved nights everything was revolving around. The music won’t stop if you don’t let it.

At this point it is also really important to us to express our gratitude to all of you who have been supporting us on our travel these two last years.

Knife presenta a Øliver, anteriormente conocido bajo un alias en vivo, Øliver surgió como un artista solista homónimo en 2016, el último proyecto electrónico de Oliver Gibson, con sede en Londres. Nacidos dentro de las paredes y espacios desatendidos de la capital, los intereses de Øliver se encuentran en una intersección entre el afinado EBM y el Techno cortado a máquina. Trabajando con una estética DIY, el alias se fundó en un enfoque no purista, una resistencia contra la convención.

Knife presents Øliver, formerly known under a live alias, Øliver emerged as a self-titled solo artist in 2016, the latest electronic project from London-based, Oliver Gibson. Born from within the capitals neglected walls and spaces, Øliver’s interests lay at an intersection between sharp EBM and machine-cut Techno. Working with a DIY aesthetic, the alias was founded on a non-purist approach, a resistance against convention.

Blush Response is Joey Blush, a Cuban-American artist and sound designer hailing from Miami who now resides in Berlin. Blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as Fear Factory, Rhys Fulber, Cristian Castro, and as a touring member of Joey Jordison (Slipknot)'s alternative rock project Scar the Martyr. A fascinating, vibrant new artist, frequenting the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like Sonic Groove, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-zen, and Total Black.

Kolejną osobą, która przedstawi swoją wizję grania, jest Piotr Figiel – producent muzyczny, live actowiec i DJ z Krakowa. Wcześniej kojarzony ze swoich wydawnictw pod aliasami DCM i Peter Feegle, od 2014 działa pod własnym imieniem i nazwiskiem. W swojej twórczości Piotr łączy przeróżne inspiracje, skupiając się na techno, IDM, oryginalnym sound designie, dobrym brzmieniu i graniu hardware’owych live actów. Te ostatnie miał okazję zaprezentować między innymi na festiwalach takich jak Street Art Festival, Ars Cameralis, dwukrotnie na Tauron Nowa Muzyka czy na legendarnym Instytucie w Warszawie. Jego produkcje i remiksy wydawane były w wielu polskich i zagranicznych labelach. Oprócz działalności solowej, w duecie z Dominikiem Gawrońskim tworzy projekt Krakowitz, eksplorując syntezatorowo-melodyjną stronę muzyki, przyprawioną nostalgią lat dziecięcych.

Zajmuje się także produkcją, miksem i masteringiem, pomagając innym artystom osiągnąć wymarzone brzmienie ich muzyki. Od 6 lat prowadzi na antenie Off Radio Kraków audycję “Essentia Electronica”, która stała się jednym z najważniejszych źródeł informacji i promocji dla krakowskiej sceny muzyki elektronicznej.

W podcaście przygotowanym przez Piotra znalazło się trochę nowości wydawniczych oraz produkcje samego autora – jeden z utworów, “What If”, został wydany w ramach “Head noise EP” dla labelu Unknown Territory. Całość zwraca uwagę bogatą warstwą perkusyjną, nieoczywistymi zestawieniami precyzyjnie dobranych utworów i płynnym przechodzeniem poprzez różne muzyczne obszary – minimalistyczne, hipnotyczne „toole”, „bleepowe” techno, dubtechnowe atmosfery i emocjonalne melodie. W rozmowie Piotr dzieli się swoim podejściem do opowiadania muzycznych historii w formie setów i podcastów – zachęcam do odsłuchu połączonego z lekturą!
