Los Angeles–based DJ and producer Realize (aka Alex Vartanian) colors his productions with rich, melodic soundscapes that have tense buildups and pensive grooves.

Main ingredients within his tracks include cavernous bass lines, haunting elements, and uncanny atmospheres. His music can be found via his own imprint, Grand Grooves, which also doubles as a club night.

Realize’s tracks have received support from the likes of Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren. His performances span from appearances for Incognito, FNGRS CRSSD, Avalon Hollywood, and Underrated - where he has worked alongside artists such as Heartthrob, Worakls, and Low Steppa.

His forthcoming release ‘Salvation EP’ debuts on Grand Grooves May 23, 2022.

Los Angeles–based DJ and producer Realize employs the esoteric art of using darkness as a vehicle for transcendence. His music is defined by lush landscapes with tense buildups which gradually culminate to heads down, pensive grooves. When behind the decks, he mixes cavernous bass lines, haunting elements, and uncanny atmospheres.

Realize’s productions can be found on Grand Grooves, Delusional Records, and Understated @ Nite. His tracks have received support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren, and Chris Fortier.

Performances span from appearances for Incognito, FNGRS CRSSD, and Underrated to the historic Avalon Hollywood alongside artists such as Heartthrob, Worakls, and Low Steppa.

Realize is  playing Dirty Epic x Incognito on January 7 and The Lash on January 12. Also, his remix of Casska - Athena recently dropped on Understated @ Nite:

When the pandemic hit, Frankfurt-born DJ and producer Julien Bracht decided to move his studio to Spain so he had a space “full of concentration and isolation”. Having previously been making music inBerlin, the shift was a welcome reset. “It was so crazy that I just needed to run out of it for a moment,” Julien says. Then, out of the blue, Julien was asked to remix a track by the Canadian electro-pop artist Grimes for the ‘Rave Edition’ of her album ‘Miss Anthropocene’. Julien’s dark and brooding 10-minute transformation of ‘My Name Is Dark’ introduced him to an entirely new audience and has racked up more than 420,000 streams on Spotify. Creating it turned out to be influential for Julien, as it provided the catalyst and confidence for him to restart his solo project and focus on it fully “in a more serious way”.

Anastasia’s unrivaled passion and use of textural rhythms has reached an ever-growing fan base with a sound that is nothing short of raw, propulsive and hypnotic.

She got her start after moving to Japan; years living abroad infused her love for music culture and instilled a strong inclination for art and performance. Inspired by the eclectic Japanese music scene, she developed a sound that encapsulates her time spent in the country’s listening bars, record stores, and local music venues. She made her debut in Iwakuni appearing in the Three Tides series for the collective Storytime; she’s since made guest appearances for Mirador Barcelona, Blind Tiger, Incognito, Malfunction, NewLife, Subverse, Closer LA, Under LA and Veluda. Now living in Los Angeles, she aims to share her love for music, gathering up layers of experimental, dissonant sounds curated to evoke a sense of curiosity and an immersive listening experience. 

Characterized by her versatile, textured sets, she approaches her sound through a variation of percussive layers, spiraling synths and dark-hued elements. Each component weaves in and out of expansive synth abstractions underpinned by erratic rhythms. Deeply enigmatic sequences and polarizing elements intermingle with low-sunk atmospheric sounds and tonal sequences in an effervescent vein, creating a compelling narrative.
