We are over the moon to announce our first non-profit project for Utopia56, a charitable organization that provides help to migrants and refugees.
With this project, it is values of solidarity, support and benevolence that we want to bring forward in this current context of social and sanitary crisis.
We also wish to convey our conception of the electronic music scene, namely a scene that is socially aware and concretely involved.
The compilation gathers nearly thirty artists, all up and coming promising talents from the current techno scene, whose only instructions were groove love and optimism.
Feel free to share and support the cause, 100% of the funds raised will be donated to Utopia56.

With the help of my friend @sandrobarrel , I've re-transcribed the notes of  "The Song of Storms" and made this piece of art!

Amelie Lens’ EXHALE Records continues to deliver fiercely dynamic techno from the underground’s most promising, rising and established artists with its second VA compilation. Following EXHALE’s first VA release in 2020, the party series turned label once again welcomes existing members, flourishing producers and blossoming new artists to the EXHALE family for its second various artists compilation. Opening the record are hardware aficionados 999999999 with ‘Alarm 303’ - a powerful techno floor destroyer armed with a reverberating kick, rushy rave stabs and a barrage of alarms. Promising newcomer Jastice presents an energetic ravey cut that weaves between faded synths and a softened vocal, accompanied by an entrancing interlude with ‘Hey You’. Mancunian producer Kontain dishes out ‘Neck Crank’, a hybrid of gritty rumbling bass chords, strident synths and an unwavering kick. Istanbul’s Gräfin continues by deftly combining electronic stabs, flurried hi-hats and gravitating synths layered above the melody in ‘Chatty Echoes’.
Following is ‘Bóg Jest w Techno’ event boss Sept, who presents us with a stripped back cut layered with piercing synth keys and gentle electro elements in ‘Beyond The Veil’. Acid stabs and a female voice echo the track title in Raven’s trippy cut ‘Metal On Metal’, with light airy synths to close out that simulate euphoria. We’re taken on a dark and weighteir expedition with Frazi.er in ‘Systematic Ignorance’ - a
brooding bass drives the sound, with acid melodies adding texture throughout. Keeping up pace is ‘Kendall’ by Trym, a cinematic composition that utilises cymbals, hi-hats and synth notes to create a
brighter melody over its dark percussion. Rounding off is London techno talent Charlie Sparks who equips the record with weapon ‘Tataki’, combining Japanese vocals with acid 303’s, sirens and powerful kick drums. Next up we have Under Black Helmet with ‘Rogue’, an industrial style track that uses familiar dark themes characterized by distorted keys and commanding kicks. Brooklyn’s Xiorro follows with ‘Hearing Colors’ featuring Adrestia, with a yearning distorted vocal sample, protruding percussion and jagged synth keys. The finale is delivered by EXHALE mainstay Ahl Iver’s ‘There Is Always Light’ - a trancy endeavour that juggles hi-hats and cymbals with twinkling euphoric synth keys and long waning bass chords.

Belgian techno powerhouse Amelie Lens returns with her third release on her celebrated imprint LENSKE. Hot on the heels of an explosive mix CD on fabric last November, her four-hour Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 in April (the longest one since 1997) as well as a hit lockdown livestream, she delivers a hard-hitting EP entitled ‘Higher’ featuring her usual propensity for dark sounds and haunting vocals. Due to the current circumstances, she has unfortunately had to put on hold a summer full of festival appearances at the likes of Timewarp, Awakenings, Primavera Sound, Junction 2, Kappa Future, Sonus, and an extended tour with her Exhale curated parties with her own stage at Tomorrowland and OFFSonar, to name a few. This EP showcases Lens’ sound and energy while we wait to dance together again. 

On the A side we have the euphoric title track, in which melodic synthwork and familiar vocal inflections echo into the far reaches of a cosmic dance floor. Next is ‘L’Obscurite’, which shocks with an hypnotic pulse, combining an appetite for the mystifying with sonic bleeps and booms. On the B side features an emotive sub-bass rework of ‘Higher’ by Berlin’s techno boyband FJAAK, swindling a multi-layered rave version. For the hungry ravers, this will be a fiery treat for the ears.

The Mighty Belgian Acid King has sent us a mix and we are excited to share it with you this week. Jacidorex has made a serious name for himself since moving on from his DnB beginnings, now being the producer behind some of the most monster tracks and remixes going currently. He is the father of one of our favourite releases dropped on the infamous Casual Gabberz back in 2019 under the alias 'DJ Jon Piemel'. If you haven't heard this then we strongly recommend you check this out.

He has brought an hour of terror for us this week with heavy content straight from the onset. Get buckled in because it's going to be a bumping ride.
