Denise Rabe is back with a frantic industrial EP, Blame Me, via the Arkham Audio imprint. The aggressive techno release reflects her early influences from hip hop, drum ‚n‘ bass and jungle, mixing heavy drums and tribal percussive rhythms with gritty industrial drones, arpeggiated sirens and machine fx for a dark and hard-hitting experience. The release perfectly embodies Arkham Audio‘s signature sound that focuses on driving, club-ready industrial techno.

The EP begins with the title track ‚Blame Me‘, which blends a frenzy of raw percussion, rough noise textures and an ever-evolving alarming sweep that builds tension throughout the track. The release follows with ‚1394‘, a darker, rhythm-heavy tune with electrical buzz and mechanical hiss that groans, creaks and moans. ‚Dosing Off‘ is the most melodic and minimalistic track of the EP, with a mellow, ambient lead pulsing over sweeping noise pads and sparse drums.

The release features a remix for each of the three original tracks, the first being Advent‘s groovy interpretation of ‚Blame Me‘, which brings in dub chords to replace some of the industrial hits and drones. The second remix is from TWR72 for ‚1394‘, which adds tribal drums and textures for an upbeat, dancefloor-ready track. The final track is an upbeat, pulsing remix of ‚Dosing Off‘ from Arkham Audio label owner Cri Du Coeur himself.

For our 40th episode we are welcoming another DJ from Dutch soil. Based in ’s-Hertogenbosch this 21 year old upcoming talent is starting to make a name for herself. SHE/HER started djing about three years ago, during the lockdowns. For this reason she felt inspired by various Dutch illegal and underground rave communities. 

Searching for her own style she started playing techno with hard kicks and trance influenced records. Eventually leading up to a style that has more emphasis on groovy rhythms which she blends with deeper and harder sounds. 

At the moment SHE/HER is a resident at Artdective, a female DJ collective from Amsterdam and has played in several venues like Club Atelier and Radion in Amsterdam and the Old Cave in Nijmegen. She says she has just started her journey and feels honored by the opportunities she has gotten. She’s eager to learn and be inspired more by the beautiful techno scene. 

Prepare for an hour long podcast showcasing the style of SHE/HER with groovy rhythms blended with deep and hard sounds that will make you want to move your body.
