bzzzzz… bzzzz… VSA Radio is transmitting… For today’s broadcast we have the pleasure of inviting DJ Algorythm (she/her) into the studio. DJ Algorythm is the DJ project of the artist Vinnie Gotfredsen, known for her work as director and producer at Bedside Productions. Vinnie’s sound is an ecletic and quirky mashup of many genres including breakbeat, glitch, happy hardcore and trance. It’s soft, it’s hard, it’s cute and it’s sexy. Close your eyes and enjoy the ride with DJ Algorythm:

“I want to create a different musical experience where the listener will be challenged in their usual expectations of a dance floor set - it won’t necessarily be easy to enjoy and they might get obstructed in their dancing, but if they catch on beyond this point, a curiosity will be awaken and that’s where it gets interesting for me. Im all in for the mind-bending and deconstructing of the club but I will also please with alternative takes on pop classics and catchy high pitched vocals.

A lot of teenage nostalgia and internet-zooming lies behind my selection of tracks and Im hyper-aware of the symbolism and effect music have on people, that’s why I also tend to make my own edits of songs where I “feminize” vocals or cut out any trace of toxic masculinity - I believe in manifesting queerness through my music and I feel emotionally connected to all the tracks I play, so I hope the listener will get a sense of my personality when they listen to this mix.

It’s a big honour for me to release this mix for Ved Siden Af, a place where I at last in my life feel a sense of “belonging”
