Taipei-born DJ Kaytseng shares a psychedelic podcast for us this week. Wavey melodies, sleek drums and high-speed trance rhythms pulsate throughout, evoking a mesmerising aural experience. Based in Naarm, Kay has soundtracked local spots Colour, 24 Moons, Bourke Street Courtyard and many more, supporting artists like Mama Snake, DJ Spit and Schacke along the way. Previous mixes for CRUDE and Boiler Room have allowed her to reach a European audience too. While Kaytseng’s sound is typically fast and trippy, she peppers her mixes with soft vocals and pearlescent soundscapes, striking the perfect balance between brutal and hypnotizing moods. With a deep passion for psychedelic music, she is constantly exploring new sounds and drawing inspiration from genres like dark trance, psy techno, and tekno. She loves blending fast, organic soundscapes with uplifting, hypnotic melodies to create a continuously driving journey on the dancefloor.
Together with her DJ partner vladislost, bratanova is also part of 3-phasen-depot and founded the podcast series 3rd Spectrum Cast last year, offering fellow musicians a platform to showcase their sound.
