This summer, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Driven by the belief that music can be a source of healing, Jacky Jeane is working to create an inclusive, caring party, with an aquatic, enveloping soundtrack. Introduced to mixing by the feminist collective MAL.E.S (Strasbourg), she draws on ambient, downtempo, UK, tribal, bass music and techno sounds, with particular attention paid to rhythms and textures. Jacky Jeane represents a modern emerging scene, happily multiplying areas of exploration, both musical and living.

Jazz Brown and I live in Camberwell/Peckham London. I was born in Luton but moved to Ireland when I was young with my family :)

𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐱
It came from my relationship with dreaming. We don't realize that we spend half our lives unconscious, dreaming, growing and the majority of us don't actually remember our dreams. I do!!! I remember them so well that I feel like they are another life for me, another world nip into creating but sometimes having no control over. I wake up daily confused or affected in some sort of way whether that is positive or negative. I believe they speak to us or remind us of another force out there, accessing that part of our brain and the universe we are longing for. Mixes or sets are quite like dreams, going on a transcendent journey unsure of what to expect. The weird subconscious worries we latch onto or deep desires in us and that’s what I wanted to create with this, a two hour mix inspired by those intricate and bitter sweet emotions starting slow with parts of chaos in there. It’s all connected ~~~

I grew up in a very musical household. Both my parents and family were music heads. They were very young when they had me so I grew up in a young adults home with their friends and our family around :) My dad especially, being Jamaican, was a huge lover of dancehall, bashment, jungle & Rnb. My Mum introduced me to pop, triphop and rnb and I was surrounded by cds, records and videos, having a small collection of my own when I was like 7/8, I still collect Cds today. I remember my parents used to have small gatherings at our house when I was a kid and invite friends and family around and there would be loud music playing through huge sound system speakers in the backroom…. I was so involved and curious and it stuck with me! As a DJ and producer I now look for that nostalgic feeling and emotion in music. I like sensual rhythms and deep groovy kicks and drums, kind of like in rnb or dancehall. I think because of how eclectic my musical childhood was has given me more of an open minded outlook when playing or listening to music. I like all genres and usually play a mixture of them creating my own sound with a few tracks from different genre families.

I opened the basement in De school which was MAD, the crowd from start to finish were here for it. Laak in Den Hag was also something else but also @ankali, Prague was defo my fave!! The energy in that club and the party and people were just amazing, I wanna go back!

Our new mix comes from New York locals, Scotia and threehz who went b2b at "dream/self", a beautifully crafted club night hosted by threehz at Earthly Delights in Ridgewood New York. Get ready for some spring heat. 

Scotia is a DJ and producer with the ear of a true fan and the deep intention of a seasoned practitioner. The Manchester based artist can be found behind the counter at the legendary Eastern Bloc Records where he fronts the house and techno curation for the shop.  He has leveraged his exposure to the latest sounds there to promote his own Unveiled Nuance events and label as well as securing performances at events throughout the country.

"I aimed to create something that reflects where I am sonically right now. The aesthetic of the deeper sound has expanded so much lately, touching on all sorts of BPM's and vibes, and I've really been loving every bit of it. We're back for the #57th episode of our Schimmer podcast series with Sev Dah.

Berlin, Detroit, Birmingham and, of course, Sarajevo.
Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno. Authentically purveying the pulsations of the nakedly throbbing and ugly world, far away from Starbucks and H&M. 


Signed to respected labels such as Random Island, Mote-Evolver and Kaiser's KSR, he quickly gnawed his way into the scene’s core of DJs and producers. Sev is even managing new projects on his own label Proletarijat since 2016. Like a rabid mongrel, since 1998 he has been chewing and belching new bastard beats that are aching to scream out. Consequently there’s a steaming and steady stream of vinyl releases coming.


With influences ranging from Stigmata and Mills to Master Reese and Petar Dundov, Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.

Based in Paris, Maemm builds her sets as immersive journeys, where hypnotic techno blends with ambient textures and subtle psychedelic shades. Her deep curiosity and constant search for new sounds shape a musical identity in perpetual evolution.

She has performed alongside renowned artists and played in respected venues, including the legendary Berghain.

In 2021, she co-founded La Taquinerie, a collective dedicated to ambient and downtempo experiences, merging video art and poetry. For two years, the collective held a residency at La Gare / Le Gore, curating Thursday nights with a singular artistic vision.

This episode continues VARIA’s mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.

Leur set pour Technopol illustre parfaitement cette énergie : un voyage rythmé par des sonorités UK, des touches de speed garage, une techno bouncy et une trance vive et entraînante. Une sélection de 19 producteur·rices, dont plusieurs unreleased, qui capture l’esprit du duo : curieux, libre et toujours tourné vers le dancefloor.

Basé à Paris, Anderson1000 avance dans la scène électronique comme un aventurier dans la jungle, machette à la main, traçant sa propre voie entre tribal progressive, breaks et textures fantomatiques.

DJ et producteur reconnu pour son goût prononcé pour la fusion des genres, Pura Pura n’est sans doute pas un nom inconnu si vous aimez traîner vos oreilles sur SoundCloud ou sur la radio locale montpelliéraine Piñata, où il y tient une résidence. On mettrait même notre main à couper que vous avez déjà entendu l’une de ses tracks, tant c’est l’un des producteurs les plus prolifique de la scène. 
Installé à Montpellier, il s’est fait connaître à l’international grâce à ses packs d’edits, régulièrement joués par des artistes comme Miley Serious ou Jarreau Vandal. Il a également sorti plusieurs EP collaboratifs dont le dernier en date « No More Afterparties » avec son acolyte Hyas sur le label 99cts.

Véritable tête de réseau reconnue, Technopol fédère et représente l’ensemble des actrices et des acteurs de la filière auprès des institutions, nationalement au Groupe de Travail des Musiques Actuelles du ministère de la Culture et localement auprès des collectivités territoriales, en tant que partenaire des réseaux de musiques actuelles et interlocuteur direct des artistes, les structures de production de spectacles vivants et de musiques enregistrées, agences de management artistique et de booking et des médias de cette esthétique incontournable des musiques actuelles.

L'association est également organisatrice de la Techno Parade et du festival Paris Electronic Week.
