Virtual Underground : How has this Lorenzo Papini story started ?
Lorenzo Papini : My story has started around one year and and half ago. I’ve always loved digging into Techno and (a bit later) Industrial Techno and I’ve dedicated most of my recent life on looking and listening to a lot of new music every day just as pure passion. This, alongside the various techno and (more recently) industrial techno scene in London, also helped me to build my own prospective of Industrial Techno. So at some point, also thanks to some friends who pushed me in this direction and taught me how to DJ, I felt the need to start and share with people my own idea of music.

Virtual Underground : Where do you draw your inspiration from ?
Lorenzo Papini : I mainly draw my inspiration from the Industrial Techno scene itself and among my favourite DJs/Producers I can surely name Axel Picodot, Paramod and OGUZ even tho it’s very difficult to make a narrow selection of artists at the moment. I also follow with big interest Gabber and Hardtechno waves.

Virtual Underground :Could you describe your music selection and mixing process ?
Lorenzo Papini : I see my vision of Industrial Techno as a journey through the darkest and fastest side of 4/4 techno with acid, acidcore, gabber, hardtechno and hardcore influences and my music selection has based on this idea. When I record a podcast I see it as an escalation from Techno to Hardcore with a lot of different influences in between and doing so I try to offer a 360 degree vision of my sound.

Virtual Underground :Which software/hardware did you use for this set ?
Lorenzo Papini : I used an Allen & Heat Xone 92 mixer, an Allen & Heath Xone K2 MIDI controller and a MacBook Pro to run Traktor Pro 3.0.

Virtual Underground : What are your next plans ?
Lorenzo Papini : My next most important plan is surely contributing to the scene with my first releases and regarding it I have a 3 tracks EP ready to go out on January. I’m already working on new projects and my goal would be to release 8/10 tracks by the end of 2020. Looking ahead I also have other plans in mind but right now I feel all my focus need to be on producing even tho I won’t stop releasing podcast as it’s something I really love to do!

Making an exciting debut on Soma is the fast rising live act, Buried Secrets. His first release for the label, the Echoes From The Past EP has the enigmatic producer working his way through hard industrial rhythms and rave infected sounds. 

Title track Echoes From The Past opens the EP in furious form as punishing drums rattle off while huge, sweeping pads blast throughout. Precious Calling keeps the intensity boiling and distorted kicks drive hard and hypnotic rhythms, loop out and keep the pace. Seed Of Deception once again grabs you from the beginning as a slowly intensifying acid line swells before the full force of the track literally blows you away with rapid percussive elements and massive energy. Last, but certainly not least, Ancient Awakening delivers one final blow of hard as nails Techno. Disturbing synth hooks permeate through a bed of dense and layered drums all wrapped up with Buried Secrets signature, invasive sound design.

- ℹ️ - JOE SANE aka Joel Boer was born in The Netherlands in 1997. 
He always had a love for electronic dance music, and started to make music by the age of 17. 
First he produced Hardstyle music, but when he had visited his first Techno party, he was in love with Techno music right away. 
After a few years of making Techno, he developed his favorite style of Techno with a touch of Hardstyle sounds. 
He first made his debute in Techno at Septic Amsterdam at the 9/11 VA EP. 
Since then he released at The Meaning Of Rave and Tétraédre Records, and is climbing his way!

With support from the likes of Dax J, Rebekah, Paula Temple, SNTS, NoneoftheAbove & 9x9 he has certainly not gone unnoticed in the scene. Episode 029 of the Tek-no Prisoners mix series see’s Amsterdam based DJ/Producer D.N.P who is a a relatively newcomer on the scene but already making waves with his big love for heavy kicks and raw industrial sounds, with his productions receiving support from the likes of: Paula Temple, SNTS, Noneoftheabove and Under Black Helmet to name a few. D.N.P has honed his style from frequently attending Techno Events and spending hours in the studio creating the heavy industrial music that we all crave!

Vendex is a dj and producer born in Barcelona. He began to mix at the age of 14 to 15 years and began to produce in 2016 various genres and subgenres of electronic music. He is now focused on techno, specifically in the Dark, Industrial, Acid and Hard Techno.
During the summers he grew up in Ibiza, since he has family on the island, thanks to this he had at his disposal many artists and genres with different influences.

Today he has found his way, the path of Techno, with a philosophy that envelops him in a cloak of darkness.
Influenced by the literature of Dante Alighieri in his work the Divine Comedy, as well as everything related to history, Vendex comes with the intention of creating a path to an inner journey wrapped in dark melodies, blunt and sharp bass that defy the natural , reaching supernatural sounds that touch or even reach what would be the sound of the underworld. Generating sounds that guide the Dantesque idea of ​​a trip in the underworld with the aim of reaching paradise. All this through a forceful and enveloping sound, this creating a path to the nine levels of hell, purgatory and finally reaching paradise.

Influenced today in his sessions by artists such as Dax J, Parallx, I Hate Models, Scalameriya, Ancient Methods, Tommy Four Seven or Setaoc Mass and many more.
