Following on from the very robust debut of his own label Failsafe, Juxta Position deviates back to the more melancholic aesthetic with which he initially made his mark back in 2013 on Mistress Recordings.

Drawing palpable influence from ambient electronica like Boards Of Canada, he then reframes the aesthetic, with the help of rhythmic anchoring, on the 12 minute opening opus “Eureka”.

However, not to disappoint lovers of the slightly harder, more uptempo, electronic beat, the flip then dishes up two significantly more pressurised techno pieces, the former “Made In Belgrade” more linear, the latter “Reimagined” more flamboyant.

Omer joins the Love On The Rocks family with a massive underground smash, the not-so- well-kept secret rework that’s been doing the rounds recently among a handful of trusted DJs, inducing hands-in-the-air hysteria and clocking up more than a few plays in clubs from Robert Johnson to Panorama Bar. 

Finally it lands here as the title track of the EP, perfectly tooled for any poolside dance party.

Finding just enough room for another huge jam to share the same side, Omer moves effortlessly into his trademark late night melancholic trip territory with High Hopes, leading in with snapping percussion before giving way to a fierce bassline, swirling layers of melody and synths that resonate with warmth and emotion.

Rounding out the proceedings, Back and Forth pulses with electric energy from the word go, quickly pulling you into its distinctly neon after-dark atmospherics, with a forboding hook that twists around itself amid spiralling tension, and on into euphoria. No money, no honey goes the saying. So, with that in mind, Honey Soundsystem Records returns to the aisles of your favorite (and least favorite) record stores with a money $hot 12 inch. Honey Soundsystem has been on the road seemingly non-stop, visiting foreign cities and meeting delightful characters on the way. This EP is a “tour diary” of sorts, 4 tunes that have been road tested to the nth degree and now we want our friends, fans, and foes to have them too.

A1 features a track by San Francisco’s Sepehr - the most ID requested track from our Chapter 10 Boiler Room finally revealed. A2 is by Stockholm’s Henrik Bergqvist, a tune Jackie got his hands on after a crazy night of MDMA and accidentally voguing on top of Henrik’s computer bag. Derrick Carter approved the use of his voice as long as it said “Snatched from DC” thanks Derrick. B1 is by the Twink-porn worthy brothers from Berlin: Morven Son - a horny moderne Electro classic featuring a secret sample from one of the more fabulous 90s movies about a sex worker. B2 is a hidden gem demo from Bogota’s Lunate. While visiting Bogota to play a gig at the legendary Video Club, locals kept pointing their finger at one guy when referencing the man in town making the music we needed to hear. That guy was Lunate and this one of those beautiful and simple tunes you can play at the beginning, middle, or end of any night.

The best news about this release? Everyone behind these tracks are genuine people with great hearts. The honestly comes through when listening and playing them out, you’re gonna love the way you they sound, I guarantee it. Oh, and some dope artwork by Bad Mariah.
