Rising Techno star Nørbak makes a welcome return to Soma with his second release the Struggle In Vain EP. The prolific young Portuguese producer has had an incredible year so far in terms of releases and this 2nd release with Soma marks a decided upturn in showcasing his well crafted and defined sound. Adding to the EP’s already heavy sound is Spanish producer Kwartz who delivers an epic remix in his own inimitable style.

Subtly and hypnotism are trademarks of Nørbak’s sound and opener These Hurrying Years is a perfect example of him using both of these to work in tension throughout. Title track Struggle In Vain leans on driving and direct elements that deliver on pure intensity. It Will Not Consume Us works in broken beat rhythms allowing Nørbak to bring a sense of groove whilst more atmospheric elements evolve throughout. The Kwartz remix of It Will Not Consume Us closes out the EP with great depth as layer upon layer unfolds, utilising the original’s atmospheres and melodic tones, creating a whole new entity.

José Antonio aka 'Looper' a los 20 años empiezó a incursionar en la música electrónica, específicamente en el Techno, tomando de referencia sellos como: CLR, Figure, Sleaze Records, Mindtrip, Clergy; y artistas como Chris Liebing, Len Faki, Brian Sanhaji, Flug, Pfirter, Cleric; para luego comenzar en el año 2016 su carrera como Dj y productor. En los años que lleva transitados como 'Looper' logró compartir cabina con Djs como Flug, Tripeo, Julixo, Introversion, Michel Lauriola, etc. Fué uno de los fundadores y organizadores del ciclo/sello argentino ROOM desde el 2016 hasta el 2018. En 2018 funda junto a Chané el sello 'Dancefloor Impact Research' en el cual sigue trabajando en la actualidad. Desde fines del 2019 que es residente del ciclo Dripping Techno
La búsqueda de su sonido propio lo lleva a componer su música en base a procesos que abarquen y definan toda una obra.

KOBOLD PODCAST 19 - LOOPER

Welcome to the 19th edition of The Apparition Show! The Moscow based Russian DJ and producer Evis May is known for her very special take on Drum and Bass, and Techno, with numerous successfull releases world wide. She is the co founder of Radar Moscow, and a key figure in the Moscow underground scene.

We are very happy that she will be playing her favourite techno for us during  the first hour, and Oyhopper will finish it off, to make it two full hours of quality techno!

Portuguese maestro Lewis Fautzi drops his 2nd EP on Soma of 2020 with the State Of Pressure EP. As well as two top drawer original’s from Lewis, the EP feature two specially commissioned remixes from fellow Portuguese rising stars Nørbak & Temudo, both of who have featured this year on Soma to high acclaim. 

Title track State Of Pressure opens and doesn’t mess about as thumping, driving drums lay the foundation before pure, hypnotic rhythms begin their descent as deliver of the typical Fautzi sound. Nørbak’s remix of State Of Pressure takes note of the originals hypnotic vibe offers a deeper and more percussive driven affair. Epidemic Of Wellness has Fautzi working in darker elements and delivering more tension with his use of each particular strain of the track pulsing and modulating perfectly in sync. Temudo closes out the EP with his remix of Epidemic Of Wellness. Always focussing on groove and momentum, Temudo goes sub heavy on his version but retains the dark tones of the original whilst almost adding an Electro-like flex on the groove.
