Spiegelbild
Das Spiegelbild ist viel mehr als das seitenverkehrte Bild, welches man von sich betrachtet… Täglich schaut man hinein, doch einem wird viel zu selten bewusst, welcher Wert sich dahinter verbirgt. Selbstzweifel, Ängste und Sorgen bestimmen viel zu häufig unseren Alltag; die Dinge auf die es im Leben ankommt werden viel zu selten gesehen. Hinter jedem Spiegelbild steckt ein Familienmitglied, ein Freund oder ein Seelenverwandter, dessen Betrübtheit sein Umfeld ebenso betrübt  macht und dessen Glück sein Umfeld ebenso glücklich macht. Schlagzeilen, „falsche“ Freunde und das Schaffen einer Existenz beherrschen uns und verschließen unsere Augen vor dem, was wir in unserem Spiegelbild sehen sollten: Einen Menschen, der am Leben ist; der lachen kann und die Chance hat, jeden Tag wunderbare Begegnungen zu erleben. Indem wir der Musik lauschen, können wir den Spiegel zu unserer Seele öffnen. Wichtig ist nicht was wir sehen, sondern wie wir es sehen…

Für unsere #119  konnten wir niemand geringeren als die überaus sympathische Dänin „Ida Daugaard“ gewinnen. Mit ihrem einzigartigen Stil, dem bezaubernden Lächeln und jeder Menge dreckigen Beats fernab des Trends hat sie uns schon lange um den Finger gewickelt. Zu Recht, wie wir finden.

Ida Daugaard began vor über 8 Jahren mit dem Mixen in ihrem Wohnzimmer. Ihre selbst erstandenen Pioneer 800 Cdjs, mit denen Sie ihre ersten Mixe aufnahm, sollten der Anfang einer blühenden Kariere werden. Ob sie es damals schon wusste? Eher nicht. Doch eins stand damals schon fest. Ihr mainstreamabgewandter Stil, nämlich klassisch, reduziert, deep,  und verspuhlt zugleich zu spielen, war Türöffner für alles was folgen sollte. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit wurde sie nämlich Resident in der „Culture Box“, dem „Rust“ und „KB18“, sowie dem „Vega“, um nur einige bekannte Copenhagener Clubs zu nennen. 

Im Jahr 2014 erkannte Sie die musikalischen Möglichkeiten in Berlin und schlug fortan dort ihre Zelte auf. Schnell folgten regelmäßige Auftritte in der „Ypse“, dem „Golden Gate“ und natürlich dem „Kater Blau“. Mittlerweile ist sie in der ganzen Welt gefragt. Tendenz steigend.

Ihr eingespielter Mix ist eine schöne Reise durch die weiten Welten der Hypnose. Anfangs eher düster und pulsierend, bindet sie nach und nach immer mehr Flächen ein, die zum Träumen einladen. Dabei hält sie gekonnt den Spagat zwischen Traum und Tanz. Eine Formel die süchtig macht. Dazu technisch und stilistisch stimmig fein abgemischt. Ein Genus und das ist untertrieben.
Musik, die wie gemalt ist für eine perfekte Afterhour.

Wir sind unglaublich froh dass wir Ida für unsere Reihe gewinnen konnten. Wir danken dir von Herzen für dieses bewusstseinserweiternde Set.

Die Himmelswiese in Mitten eines herzförmigen fränkischen Waldes war auch 2017 wieder Austragungsort des kleines aber sehr feinen „von Freunden für Freunde“ Festivals. 3 Tage Musik, Liebe und Freude für Groß und Klein. 

Als Highlight für den Samstagabend hatten wir den Ausnahmekünstler LUBØMIR aus der Nähe von Zürich zu Gast. Entdeckt haben wir Randolphs Musik wie soll es anderes sein beim Surfen durch die orangene Wolke und es war uns sofort klar … hier haben wir eine Perle entdeckt. Ohne Computer, seinem analogen Setup und seinen schriftlichen Notizen seiner Tracks, spielt er sein Set zu 100% LIVE --- eben live raw and uncut. Für jeden seiner Live-Auftritte nimmt sich Randolph mehrere Monate Zeit zum Üben und Entwickeln um speziell für den Event ein einzigartiges Set zu kreieren. Mehr Hingabe zur Musik geht nicht.

Wir haben sein Set mit zwei Recordern mitgeschnitten und Randolph hat sein Set mit der Atmo zu einem grandiosen Gesamtwerk zusammengeführt. Randolph es war uns eine riesige Freude dich und deine Musik auf unserem wunderbaren kleinen Festival zu haben. Von Experten für Experten ;-)

London had a lot to do with Hector Morillo’s break in music. After moving from Mexico to the capital he landed a job at Phonica Records, where getting to know Loco Dice and Anja Schneider helped him land releases on mobilee and Desolat. He was also a part of the famous T-Bar venue during Shoreditch’s early-2000s heyday, frequently playing alongside guys like Jamie Jones before they’d broken through. 

T-Bar has long since vanished from East London’s party circuit, and Hector’s profile now extends far beyond the capital too. A big part of this success has been Vatos Locos, the party and record label he runs from his Berlin home base. 

This summer he brought the party across Europe, including a residency at one of Ibiza’s most revered small venues, Underground. Hector also lands in Farringdon alongside key crew members Chad Andrew, David Gtronic and Randall M on 13th October, so we asked Hector for a mix and interview ahead of their appearance.

Avar Garden is more than the alter ego of Francisco A. Vargas. It is his new vision of the world through the more electronic sounds composed of synthesizers that form a perfect melodic work. A concept like the avant-garde takes its metamorphosis to an experimental and innovative stage that is reflected in his productions, and gives his new aka.

In a new stage, he formed a digital record label, along with other melodic techno enthusiasts, Awen Records. A new adventure as A & R and manager that has accompanied this musical transition that is living, putting him in touch with talented producers who seek a gap in the dome of electronic music.

After the time, he forms his own label with the name of his promoter Project 13 getting to the position number 20 of the genre melodic techno with the second reference.

He has published on labels such as No words music, Utxoa Dutxa, Awen Records etc. he has obtained the support of masters of the industry such as Damian Lazarus, Christian Smith, Eelke Kleijn, Josh Wink or Fideles.

Avar Garden has one of the best clubs in Malaga, Project 13, a small place in your hometown where you can take your new concept and raise it to its full potential. He has had the pleasure of playing with Maceo Plex, Adriatique, Âme, Cora Novoa, Shall Ocin, Joris Voorn, Coyu, Edu Imbernon, Popof, Uner, German Brigante among others ... and participated in festivals like '' Dream don '' t sleep '' from the well-known Maceo Plex or at the Weekend Beach Festival 2015.

Im Laufe seines bisherigen Lebens hatte er schon so häufig einen neuen Namen angenommen, dass es ihm manchmal schwer fiel, sich an seinen wahrhaftigen, seinen Geburtsnamen zu erinnern.
Er wechselte Namen wie andere ihre Socken und das ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken. 
Er war einer von der unauffälligen Sorte, eher schmächtig und durchschnittlich groß, ausgestattet mit einem Allerweltsgesicht wie seine Oma immer liebevoll zu sagen pflegte. Möge sie selig und Frieden ruhen. 
Er war ohne nennenswerte Talente auf diese Welt gekommen, weder ein herausragender Intelligentsquozoent, noch eine musische Begabung waren ihm in die Wiege gelegt worden. Naja ... wenn man es ganz genau nahm vielleicht schon. Eine außergewöhnliche Fähigkeit besaß er nämlich, einen über die Maßen ausgeprägten und scharfen Gehörsinn. Zu Kindertagen war ihm das nie wirklich bewusst gewesen, damals bekam er nur sehr schnell Ohrenschmerzen und reagierte sensibel auf sehr laute und hohe Töne. Irgendwann jedoch, diagnostizierte ihm ein Facharzt eine stark ausgeprägte Hyperakusis. Es dauerte seine Zeit bis er sich damit arrangierte, doch nach dieser Einfindungsphase begann er es zu lieben. Nun trug er immer Ohrenstöpsel bei sich, für den Notfall und sein mattschwarzes Stethoskop. 

Damit knackte er professionell Tresore und Safes. Das mag auf den ersten Blick ungewöhnlich bis unglaublich klingen, aber genau das war sein Werkzeug für sein Handwerk. Durch einen Zufall und im spielerischen Eifer versuchten er und ein ehemaliger Freund den Safe der Mutter des Spielkameraden zu öffnen. Damals noch eher intuitiv setzte er sich vor den Metallbehälter und lauschte. Wie von allein begannen sich seine Finger über das Tastenfeld zu bewegen und wenige Sekunden später, war der Safe offen. Es dauert wieder eine gute Weile bis er Begriff was er da zu Stande gebracht hatte. Das war vor gut 10 Jahren gewesen. In dieser Zeit hatte sich vieles bei ihm verändert, aber Tresore knacken war immer noch so leicht wie damals. Mit einem breiten lächeln im Gesicht öffnete er die sehr große und schwere Stahlttür und begann das ihm dargebotene in seinen Taschen zu verstauen ...

Diese musikalische Collage ist von NOBOA und ist eben so abwechslungsreich wie vielfältig. Mit animalischen Dschungel Vibes im Ohr lässt sich nun auch die  zweite Etappe der KataHaifisch Podcasts abschließen. Wir freuen uns auf die nächsten 100 und sagen Danke für alles ❤

Born in the UK and now settled in South America, James Monro's immersion within the music industry goes back some 30 years. Having been classically trained at school, James' musical influences diverged into a long and keen love affair with all things electronic. From his initiation into the otherworldly sounds of Yello, Jean Michelle Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Visage, Human League, Brian Eno, Georgio Moroder and the more left field electronic experimental bands of the early 80's, and combined with a deep love of the psychedelic bands of the 70's, disco and early hip hop, it was inevitable that he fall into a passionate relationship with electronic dance music. He entered into club land, journeyed through the early daze of Acid House, the uk's "summers of love" in '88 and '89 , onto the beaches of Goa in the early '90's and out into the global circuit of parties and festivals that have since become his playground. All the while collecting the music as he went, finding and forging his own sound, and starting up the now legendary Flying Rhino Records with 2 friends in 1995.

With his countless influences, musical prowess and production skills, as a DJ, James weaves a heady journey through all styles of dance music. So much so that it's impossible to truly define his sound. Suffice to say it's deep, its hypnotic, it's emotional and above all fat and funky. James is always pushing the boundaries of what constitutes house or techno, and his passion for his craft has never faltered - his global schedule is testament to that. He's been touring the globe for over 20 years, and still can't get enough. He has played along side many of the leading lights of dance music - Carl Cox, Nick Warren, Sasha, Hernan Cataneo, Sven Vath, John Digweed and Dave Seaman, to name just a few. He has also played in some of the most famous clubs in the world, including Amnesia in Ibiza, Heaven in London, Womb in Tokyo, The Edge in Sao Paulo plus many of the best festivals and open-air parties on the planet - all the while garnering ideas and inspiration that have made him both a finely tuned producer and phenomenally passionate DJ who has cemented his name as a popular and seasoned favourite within the underground music scene…..

We’re excited to welcome a bartender from Beirut, Lebanon, to the Schirmchendrink family: LØC, standing for “Line or Circle”, created a fantastic “Resolution” cocktail containing lots of Gin,  his favorite spirit! We’re following the path of this promising talent for a while now and kick start this weekend with his brand-new journey, exclusively on Schirmchendrink.

LØC’s musical genre reflects his eclectic influence: from high-modernist integral serialism to jazz-funk fusion to Armenian poetry to oriental – all distilled down to pure, crystalline minimal techno. As well as Disco, Slow House, Ketapop , Deep House… you name it! LØC is a sonic storyteller that catches you from the beginning!

When it comes to groovy dream house, the last years have seen many new talents. LØC belongs to this generation of new producers that rose up from the underground and enjoy the support of todays who is who across global DJ booths. 

His’s first releases have been brought to us by Nie Wieder Schlafen and Sag & Tre, both newly established but already key players in this popular niche of electronic music. 

Most recently LØC created “Living Room Sessions”, a concept to get intimate with producers during their live performances. LØC is a sound explorer, a frequency designer and noise maker. 

Now and then he also honors dance floors outside of Beirut with his music. And there is a rumor that LØC is playing in the City of Lights  - dans la “Ville Lumière” – this Saturday!
