1997 re-issue. He's been around for centuries and has a discography the length of the country he is living in. Meet Helge Tømmervåg from Norway. Most people know him only by his artist name: Mind over MIDI. Instead of the capital Oslo, Tømmervåg resides in Kristianssund, a tiny city near the west coast.

Since his techno excursions in the late nineties, Mind over MIDI has been a trustworthy beacon in the icey seas of Nordic techno and ambient. Nowadays, many of his records are extremely hard to find. So, this re-release of an early single on Utrecht based SoHaSo comes as a real treat.

 Artic Beats 2 originally came out in 1997 and contains four killer tracks which tick all the boxes for techno lovers: mysterious, melancholic music with subzero melodies and razor-sharp, frost bitten hi hats.

DJs will head straight for the pulsating trip that forms 'Do You Want This Body', while lovers of ice-cold moods head over to closer 'Dry Cool Place', which makes you wanna book a hotel room in the famous artic circle hotel straight away. Essential release for all those who take Nordic techno seriously.

The third release in the Psylocybina catalog belongs to w_iro, a co-founder of the project. On "Ebb and Flow" you will find two tracks inspired by the natural world, as well as the unpredictable character of the reality around us. The footage was created in the charming village of Michalowice in the foothills of the Karkonosze mountain range and the area of the Karkonosze National Park. It was the result of total immersion in the creative process among nature and in the surroundings of inspiring people. Nature is full of mysterious and beautiful rhythms and cycles, one of them is an ebb and flow of energy. This natural cycle of rising and falling energy can be seen in all aspects of nature and is often revered in ritualism, mysticism and spirituality. Many of the events occurring in our reality are also completely random, and accidental in nature. This confluence of cyclicity and chance was inspiring in the process of creating the album. The nature of ebb and flow opens an inner door to a timeless, sacred presence. It creates a sense of peace and purpose, reminding us that no matter what happens, the cycle of life continues and that its ups and downs are an inevitable part of something greater. With patience and practice, these subtle energies can be experienced and embraced in our own lives, providing insight, guidance, and life-changing energy.

ABOUT US

TechnoTrippin' was established in the early 2014 in Barcelona to support the small techno scene that was emerging slowly but intensely.

In 2015 "Techno in the Forest", an underground festival on the outskirts of Barcelona, was born with the idea of creating strong links between artists, collectives, labels, dancers and everyone related to the underground scene in the city.
After 4 unforgettable editions, we decided we had accomplished our objective of uniting the scene and Techno in the Forest celebrated its last memorable gathering in 2018.

Since then, we have been operating only as a non-profit underground techno platform releasing podcasts & premieres from artists and labels around the globe.

In 2024, celebrating our 10th Anniversary, we launched our solidary techno label, focused on releasing music to help people who are in terryfing situations.

All the proceeds from all releases will go to different NGOs like Save The Children, UNRWA and Open Arms.*

We plan to put on another TechnoTrippin' in the Forest (V). We feel it's time again, after the pandemic, to support and unite the local techno scene by providing an unrivalled quality sound system, a place surrounded by nature, and an atmosphere that reflects the fact that we are not in it for the money. We put our heart and soul into it, simply because we can, and for us, techno is a way of life.
