For me this EP tells this personal story : sometimes dark, deep and heavy but also dancy, uplifting and full of hope.”

The journey starts with Throwback, an incredibly classy and catchy song, driven by a mesmerizing melody reminiscent of joyful memories, while haunted with an heavy and unclear outcome.

Darker and angrier, Getting You Out Of My System deals with the fact that sometimes you have to let people go, even if you don't want to. But as painful and difficult as it is, in the end it can feel liberating.

Like a reminder to Throwback, We Stay In Contact resonates deeply. Having to accept that while a relationship is intended to change in some way, and even if the memories are still here, strong and vivid, you can still be in touch with someone.

With the ending track Knowing It's Alright comes the acceptance. Glowing like a light in the dark, allowing ourselves to realise how hard but liberating it is to close a chapter, only to be able to open a new exciting one, only to go on and always chase the feeling.

'Emotional Proficiency' has been the most personal release of STNDRD so far.

Emotional information to guide thinking and behavior, and manage and/or adjust emotions to adapt to environments or goals to achieve.

Going from abstract percusions and textures like in 'Altruism' through fat basslines, metal and percusive synths and drones as you can easily find in 'Apogee' or 'Random Preferences', to a deeper synth or hypnotic bells like in high textured 'Presagio' or 'Transmissions'.
Completed with 2 remixes from T Kode & Uväll.
Italian Berlin based artist T Kode painting more abstract with unconventional grooves that drives you into and hypnotic journey on his 'Transmissions' remix. On the other hand, the Georgian Uväll comes with a groovy, percusive and powerful remix of 'Random Preferences'.

The title track “Andromeda Continuum” is immersed in an atmosphere of distant textures and transparent squelches laid over a chugging low end. “Geodesic Power Sector” emits bursts of static electricity over a powerful rolling baseline capturing the essence of deep psychedelia. “Equinox of Polaris” combines a ripping drone texture extended by swelling pads creating a symbiosis for a deeper level. “The Code of The Exiled” finishes the EP with raw heat exploring the spectrum between abstraction and depth led by a tearing yet dreamy expanse of crisp synths.

ABOUT US

TechnoTrippin' was established in the early 2014 in Barcelona to support the small techno scene that was emerging slowly but intensely.

In 2015 "Techno in the Forest", an underground festival on the outskirts of Barcelona, was born with the idea of creating strong links between artists, collectives, labels, dancers and everyone related to the underground scene in the city.
After 4 unforgettable editions, we decided we had accomplished our objective of uniting the scene and Techno in the Forest celebrated its last memorable gathering in 2018.

Since then, we have been operating only as a non-profit underground techno platform releasing podcasts & premieres from artists and labels around the globe.

In 2024, celebrating our 10th Anniversary, we launched our solidary techno label, focused on releasing music to help people who are in terryfing situations.

All the proceeds from all releases will go to different NGOs like Save The Children, UNRWA and Open Arms.*

We plan to put on another TechnoTrippin' in the Forest (V). We feel it's time again, after the pandemic, to support and unite the local techno scene by providing an unrivalled quality sound system, a place surrounded by nature, and an atmosphere that reflects the fact that we are not in it for the money. We put our heart and soul into it, simply because we can, and for us, techno is a way of life.
