Observant is ecstatic to announce that our tenth release will be done by someone who is only a few years older than this catalogue number by age, the incredibly young and talented Dallas-based Cratan, whose work has piqued the interest of some of the industry's biggest names.

"Advanced," the EP’s first offering is a propulsive track with a deft synth stab. During the breakdown, a barrage of slick percussive patterns emerge, surrounded by overdriven rides that insist on being played in a warehouse from the 1990s. With his slinky house-injected flavour, it's a formidable balance of tension and appropriation with "Call," which features a persuasive lead that periodically catches the light over a groovy bass. You'll be transported back to the days of good barebones techno with the title track "Crestfall," which features a panic stricken 16th note cascading percussion. Until you notice the overdriven elements tumbling their way with claps that slap a true classic feel.

The first remix comes from the Italian "Wrong Assessment," who opts for a slightly slower pace for "Advanced" while enveloping it in an eerie soundscape of FM textures and an irresistibly wormy low end groove. It's gleaming and shiny, with almost martial percussion sequences that replace the synth sounds from the original. Finishing off in  Sweden with Franz Jäger's spell on "Crestfall," you'll want to hold your breath for what's to come in the form of a vocal-esque pad subdued over an elevated rhythm that just erupts into many sonic dimensions, showcasing his gift for pacing and sound staging while using only the original claps to support his rendition.​

TechnoTrippin' was established in the early 2014 in Barcelona to support the small techno scene that was emerging slowly but intensely.

In 2015 "Techno in the Forest", an underground festival on the outskirts of Barcelona, was born with the idea of creating strong links between artists, collectives, labels, dancers and everyone related to the underground scene in the city.
After 4 unforgettable editions, we decided we had accomplished our objective of uniting the scene and Techno in the Forest celebrated its last memorable gathering in 2018.

Since then, we have been operating only as a non-profit underground techno platform releasing podcasts & premieres from artists and labels around the globe.

In 2024, celebrating our 10th Anniversary, we launched our solidary techno label, focused on releasing music to help people who are in terryfing situations.

All the proceeds from all releases will go to different NGOs like Save The Children, UNRWA and Open Arms.*

We plan to put on another TechnoTrippin' in the Forest (V). We feel it's time again, after the pandemic, to support and unite the local techno scene by providing an unrivalled quality sound system, a place surrounded by nature, and an atmosphere that reflects the fact that we are not in it for the money. We put our heart and soul into it, simply because we can, and for us, techno is a way of life.
