Virescence Records presents its next release in digital format, a work curated by Mod.1 including Pvrv. remix.

When we speak of a polar vortex we refer to a large area of low pressure that forms close to the poles of the Earth. Normally, this polar vortex is more prevalent at the north pole. This area of low pressure contains intense cold air that makes temperatures drop dramatically.

For this new work, the Spanish artist Mod.1 presents us with a musical exhibition, which can easily make us feel that cold sensation in the body when listening to the incredible sound nuance embodied in his EP for virescence records, and to complement this great proposal a remix of the House artist Pvrv. we end up getting into that incredible panorama presented in our reference VR009.

Other Form's appeal stems in large part from the way he blends poignant and bittersweet melodies with blistering techno structures. The Unknown Movements boss has been churning out moody, sub-heavy techno on Unterwegs (DE), Dissonanze (IT), Diffuse Reality (ES), and Soptik (DE), and here presents three new tracks that capture a mix of anxiety and excitement for the current state of the world.

The kick drums on the opener "Incantation for Release" are steely techno, but the ascending melodies and buried textures are beautiful and contemplative. 
The frantic breaks that open "Shaped by Change" give way tothe swirling synths that engulf the track, andare a little too graceful for the big room. "A Widening Rift" is fast paced, but its pitter-patter synthline and reverb drenched stabs play call-and-response with some punchy kicks.

A.Morgan and Decka bolster the British trifecta for this release with two stunning remixes. 'A Widening Rift' by A. Morgan is ruthlessly deductive, effortlessly pinging the original synthline with hypnotic rhythms accented by a melancholic orbit of notes without belabouring the point. 
Decka, on the other hand, goes all out on 'Shaped by Change,' with a rotating kaleidoscopic sequence married to brawny drums that starts off on a relatively straightforward note before the rolling groove breaks and off-kilter tones that heighten the already unsettling atmosphere.

The crystalline sound of Eloim is re-worked in this 3 tracks EP. 3 visions of cerebral techno which take us through different textures sometimes in the bed of a crystal river, with the Troma & Pers1’s remix - norman duo which already signed many elegant acid techno releases on Aquaregia. The aqueous quality of the sound can be find also in the Atomic Moog’s remix, which plays marvelously with the original elements and their metamorphic possibilities. Or other times in the power touch of b.mod which drills a tunnel in La Grande Montagna. 

Le son cristallin d’Eloim est ici retravaillé dans cet 3 titres, 3 visions d’une techno cérébrale qui nous emmène à travers différentes textures, tantôt dans le lit d’une rivière de cristal, avec le remix de Troma & PERS1 - duo normand qui a déjà composé de nombreuses tracks acid techno très élégantes chez Aquaregia. La qualité aqueuse du son peut aussi se déguster avec le remix d’Atomic Moog, qui joue merveilleusement avec les éléments originaux du morceau et leurs possibles métamorphiques. Finalement l’EP se termine avec la touche puissante de b.mod qui creuse un tunnel sous La Grande Montagna.

Artur Szatkowski - the person behind the moniker - is an up and coming  techno producer, but not a newbie to the scene overall. Going by Essence for over 20 years, he was a DJ and a promoter, responsible for hundreds of parties all over Poland. When he took some time off from party life back in 2018, he started learning production skills and currently he is focused on his own music, heavily inspired by his lifelong musical influences. 

Having released his first EP in late 2021 on International Day Off, Artur is now making his way back - releasing and performing as We Call It Voight-Kampff.

We Call It Voight-Kampff’s music was picked up by quite a few techno artists in their DJ sets - including Ben Sims (who also released a collaboration track between We Call It Voight-Kampff and Szmer on the latter’s EP on Symbolism), Dave Clarke, Rodhad, Kr!z, Doc Scott and Freddy K.

ABOUT US

TechnoTrippin' was established in the early 2014 in Barcelona to support the small techno scene that was emerging slowly but intensely.

In 2015 "Techno in the Forest", an underground festival on the outskirts of Barcelona, was born with the idea of creating strong links between artists, collectives, labels, dancers and everyone related to the underground scene in the city.
After 4 unforgettable editions, we decided we had accomplished our objective of uniting the scene and Techno in the Forest celebrated its last memorable gathering in 2018.

Since then, we have been operating only as a non-profit underground techno platform releasing podcasts & premieres from artists and labels around the globe.

In 2024, celebrating our 10th Anniversary, we launched our solidary techno label, focused on releasing music to help people who are in terryfing situations.

All the proceeds from all releases will go to different NGOs like Save The Children, UNRWA and Open Arms.*

We plan to put on another TechnoTrippin' in the Forest (V). We feel it's time again, after the pandemic, to support and unite the local techno scene by providing an unrivalled quality sound system, a place surrounded by nature, and an atmosphere that reflects the fact that we are not in it for the money. We put our heart and soul into it, simply because we can, and for us, techno is a way of life.
