Openly passionate about supporting underground talent, Pär works closely with an ever-expanding repertoire of labels and artists. Pär Grindvik has been a central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s as a record store owner, label manager and producer. In his artistic career Pär has released music across a plethora of acclaimed electronic labels, including a string of hits on his own Stockholm LTD imprint as well as Drumcode, with frequent collaborator Hardcell. Pär’s recent output has seen him contribute music to labels such as Semantica, Leyla, and Weekend Circuit.

What a treat... Token Records boss Kr!z delivers and impressive and captivating 62-track mix for this week's GVR episode.

Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno. Artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon & James Ruskin had a major influence on him in the 90s. They helped to define his musical taste and develop his own identity in the Techno scene. Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-DJ for Belgium’ s legendary techno night ‘Kozzmozz’, his DJ-schedule now takes him all over the world.

In 2007, Kr!z felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn’t get a proper release, so he started his own label ‘@tokenrecords’. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the Techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful sound. In the years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy , Ø [Phase], Luke Slater , James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Xhin, Sigha & Peter van Hoesen, amongst many others.

I used two controllers to control Ableton (108 knobs & 12 buttons) and an Erica Synths Perkons (also processed in Ableton in real time). 95‰ of the synth ideas you hear were created in the moment. No scene launch in ableton whatsoever. Let me know if you find the 5% pre recorded beats :D

It’s a completely raw recording, no level adjustment, no mastering and no editing (yes you can hear a little crash on my computer near the end).

Known and respected for his unique sound, he has gained support from the best names in the business and released music on some of the genre's leading labels, including institutions such as Soma, Cocoon, Minus, as well as his own BEK Audio imprint. 

Since his emergence onto the scene in 2007, Beck has accumulated an impressive list of achievements. Highlights include a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, two Boiler Room session's, featured music on BBC 1 Drama ‘Stonemouth', and 'God Save The Quine', as well as numerous collaborations with exceptional talents such as MR. G, GreenVelvet, Debra Debs, Mark Broom and Speedy J. 

2012 saw the release of his seminal debut album 'Bring a Friend' on the legendary Soma Records label. It was their 100th album release, and this was a great honour for Gary. His second album 'Dal Riata' was released in November 2019 on BEK Audio. 

You can also find Gary appearing under various different alias's , including Sosak & Tanera. 

In terms of performing, Gary has appeared at some of the worlds largest and respected clubs and festivals, with shows at renowned venues such as Womb Tokyo, Fabric London, Awakenings, T in the Park Scotland, Spazio Rome, Output NYC, Printworks London, and Timewarp, to name a few. Adrian Sandoval has been one of the most prolific producers and DJs since the early days of techno with his moniker Developer. Hailing from Los Angeles, he gained notoriety with his residency on radio station 88.7FM kspc. He later become the import and export manager for the first dedicated techno distribution company on the west coast, « Entity Music Distribution ».

With a previous residencies for the legendary Stiff Kitten, Shine and then DSNT after that - Ryan Dallas has been DJing in Belfast's clubs for well over a decade now.

A strong background of supporting some of the biggest names in techno, he's warmed up for Ben Klock, Dave Clarke, Sunil Sharpe, Rebekah, DVS1, Speedy J. Ryan has also been a regular at Belfast's AVA festival, Northern Irelands premier electronic music festival.

In 2022, he started Coda, a new night in Belfast, alongside a few other well established locals. After becoming disillusioned with how the genre has become so diluted, Coda are focused on bringing back the real sound of techno.

This year, Dallas has also been putting the hard hours and effort into creating his own tracks and productions, one of which is scheduled for release in the coming months.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ DENISE RABE

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she’s developed as a producer.
Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she’s done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.
Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to see what the future holds. New music is already confirmed for release in early 2025, along with more exciting updates and fresh ideas on the horizon.
