Over the past years Insolate has proven that she is one of the most interesting artists our scene has to keep an eye on. Many strong releases, such as her ‘Sins EP’ on Ben Sims’ label Symbolism and ‘Cern Research Center 35’ on Developer’s Modularz, have already had a great impact on the dancefloor. 

Besides building her way on a musical level, Insolate is a great contributor to the Croation music scene as well. As a co-host of TRAUM (together with Volster, who provided FrenzyPodcast #096), she makes sure a great selection of quality techno comes to her country.

Originally from Antwerp and since the past 6 years based in Berlin she delivers the rough sound of Germany's capital, not coming short on groovy and detroitesque tracks, STEYA packs a serious punch. Her first releases in 2021 on RAW's Third Eye compilation followed by the recent BCCO V/A set the foundation for many more productions to come in the next months and years.

Tremsix Radio Chapter #3 by Jonas Kopp

Over the last two decades, Fengler developed a versatile and dynamic style of DJing that made him one of the first resident DJs of Berlin’s infamous Berghain / Panorama Bar in 2005. With his impressive intuition for the very moment, Fengler is capable of changing pace, atmosphere, and energy reacting to the mood on the dance floor: whether industrial-drenched hardness, broken beats, gloomy dubs or melodic and funky grooves – next to his inimitable instinct, Fengler draws from a varied repertoire. The approach of allowing to drift away within the momentum also applies to his first singles as a producer on such labels like Ostgut Ton and Mote Evolver. His debut album „Fokus“ (2013), in particular, was a statement of his ambitious claim, awarding his own tracks with emotional densities as well as unexpected contrasts.

Bringing together both his melodic groove and beat tracks and his straighter cuts, he founded his own imprint Marcel Fengler Index (IMF) in 2011 – a platform that not only continues evolving his timeless techno approach but represents a creative center introducing new and young talents. 

As a DJ and producer, Marcel Fengler stands for imposing surprises and the appeal of variety. For him, techno is both unconditional passion as well as an essential part of his identity. He’s not bound to a linear or one-dimensional sound, instead, he’s constantly seeking for new ways to express his emotional storytelling skills. His willingness to challenge himself and to stay curious, while establishing changes as his secret persistence, is showing his true vision of techno which makes Marcel Fengler to one of the today’s most exciting electronic artists in these days.

Back in one of my favourite clubs ever… Nordstern in Basel. For those who haven't been there, it is a boat and has the best layout a club can possibly have. Amazing sound system, huge dance floor, DJ booth on almost the same level at the end of the room, all black and amazing lights and visuals – a perfect place to get lost in the groove. This time I played an all night long set, started at 1 and ended at some point after 6. This week´s AMFM 419 is actually the 4th hour of my set, next week´s show will contain the 5th and last. Brent Shay, from the heart of South Detroit, is a seasoned DJ deeply rooted in the city's iconic techno and house scene. Influenced by the pulsating beats of Detroit techno and the underground vibes of Berlin techno, Brent's musical journey began in his early teens, immersing himself in the rave culture that shaped his sound. After relocating to Flint in his early twenties, Brent took a hiatus from the music scene, only to return with a vengeance in 2018. With a penchant for dark, banging techno infused with industrial and acid elements, Brent's sets are a exploration of the underground.

As a resident DJ at Fnoob Techno Radio in London and Kapital Techno Radio in Berlin, Brent's weekly shows showcase his eclectic tastes, ranging from Detroit house to deep dub and experimental bass. He's a regular fixture at festivals across the country and has supported numerous national headliners on stages both in and out of state. Though he's yet to release his own productions, Brent's focus remains on honing his craft and delivering unforgettable sets that transport listeners to the gritty, industrial landscapes of Detroit's underground scene. Underground Resistance founder Robert Hood is one of the pioneering old guard who is still doing it right today. He is the epitome of Detroit house and techno, serving up pulsing minimal, and has been since the early nineties. Last year he joined our label for a series of three EPs entitled Paradygm Shift and a full length which will see the light of day the 22nd of May. The project is aimed to take techno out of its current comfort zone and very much did so, as does Hood himself whenever he plays one of our parties. 

Now he has served up the latest mix in our series and once again subverts expectation. His hour long Paradygm Shift Mix water no time in establishing a rock solid kick drum, and then proceeds to colour the airwaves around it with hypnotic hi hat loops, rougher claps, and raw synths. As ever with Hood, it is a bouncy and fast moving mix that hurries you along at a great rate, but because there are so many thrills along the way, you are more than willing to go wherever he wants to take you.
