ARDL - Place For The Rave [SINDEXVA004]

The EP begins with “Child Of The Fall”, a luring soundscape equipped with a solid groove, its
eighth note bass sequence and round elements. The slow four note tone descent gives it an
anticipating feeling that gets stretched and bent with high cutoff acidline. Next is “Doom
Duelist”, much more metallic in nature, it preserves an hypnotizing almost siren-like perc,
generating momentum around it with its fast percussion and purpose high hats. Being past
introductions, ACIDLESS shares his trance influences with “Shadow Of Obscurity”, almost what
sounds like a twin of the first track, but more spacy and playful. The razzing sequences, high
resonance acid, shy pads and stabs all work together so it feels like a constant conversation
between elements. At this point, we see the motivations of the artist sink and actualize in a
more inward and dark atmosphere, bringing about “Astral Wanderer”, where he uses distorted
leads to set in stone the narrative’s edge. This deeper trip resolves into the silver effects,
prodigious rumble of “Midnight Queer”. Being a culmination of every previous sonority,
“Innocence” is effective in its use of perky acid and simple but ordered sequences.
