Soma welcomes Cologne based DJ/Producer Johannes Schuster to the label for his full debut with the Panic EP. After appearing on one of the early Collective Process VA’s, the up and coming artist set about crafting a fully fledged EP for the label. This new 4 track release explores Johannes’ sound in depth and he shows off his many various inspirations, delivering a solid, powerful debut Soma EP. 

After the twisted and dark intro of Reflect, Johannes wastes no time is bringing out the big guns with title track Panic. An absolute powerhouse, 'Panic'’s hard hitting, thunderous drums pound out the rhythms as crunching percussive workouts create the drive. 'Pressure' continues in a similar vein with industrial overtones leading to massive, super saw synths that sear through the track. 'Rush' closes out the EP on a bit of a curveball and Johannes drops a crafty and menacing breaks/DnB infused monster!

Minus 25 Born and raised in small town Dalfsen, The Netherlands lives Barry Stabij, a.k.a. Minus 25 since 1987. Newcomer in the techno scene but definitely not in the music business. For over a decade he made hardstyle and performed at the biggest festivals like Defqon 1, Q-Base and Decibel. While the scene was changing more and more to a big social media scene he closed that big chapter and started making techno the way he started music, for the love of music and f*ck the money. While he dropped down 25bpm in his music productions he immediately had a new name "Minus 25". His music was quickly picked by labels from T78 and Dolby D. But then realised with DJ-ing it was more fun at 140-150bpm. Inspired by the older 00's style he created HARDtechno with some Schranz vibes and started his own label The Second Room. No mainstage money music but just music a true lover would like to hear. All digital releases are for free at bandcamp or www.TheSecondRoom.com and also very limited vinyl are available. No big distribution, just for the love of music. His hardtechno tracks got picked up big names like Petduo, Ghost In The Machine, Rebekah, Slam, NoneOfTheAbove and many more. The guys from NoneOfTheAbove got in contact with Minus 25 and so began the release on The Above Records. A demo was very well accepted and they wanted to remix this EP which is al about fried snacks. With a title called "The guy who invented the deepfryer is a legend EP" the tone was set. Barry really likes his snacks and with his friends he did a "very serious" snacktest. He ate 36 snacks that night and the tracks got named after the top 3! Obviously a very stupid and sick making test, but the music is very serious no-nonsense 4x4 hardtechno! Inspired but old legends like Glenn Wilson, Andreas Kramer and Pounding Grooves.

Astral Code is a Brazilian techno duo, idealized by Gabriel Razuk and Matheus Arantes, who started the project with the idea of ​​expanding their sound horizons by bringing their different references and adding them to the creation of Astral Code, in 2020. 
Transiting between raw techno and hypnotic techno sounds, the duo brings spatial elements to their presentations and tracks, accompanied by intense basslines and striking rhythms. Since its first launch, "Space horizon", the project has been gaining visibility within the Brazilian scene, featuring increasingly relevant presentations and releases.

The first step in our history could not be different, a V.A that shows different nuances of techno, in a balanced, dynamic way and with the necessary weight to draw attention. Backspin – the imprint launched by Regal as a love letter to early 2000s Hardgroove – welcomes techno titan Marco Bailey with the 'Drivetonik' EP: a powerful blend of past and present that pays homage to Hardgroove's golden era while keeping the focus firmly on today's dancefloors.

The EP opens with the title track 'Drivetonik', a brand-new production that sets the tone: raw, rolling and built to move bodies. A straight-up Hardgroove banger, it's Bailey at his most focused.
