For people suffering from BPD massive mood swings are often a problem. We can go from one extreme to the other in the blink of an eye, and it's usually towards the down side. It's all based around our black and white view of the world. Everything and everyone is either entirely good or entirely bad. That causes us to do what we call Splitting.
