Here we go with the fifty-first installment of our Concrete podcast series coming from one of our residents and collective members: @djsaunameister .

... not having a clue what is going to face him moving to Berlin for art studies at the age of 20.. Techno slowly became a part of his life.
Reflecting the cycles of everyday life, his passion for dancing through the nights slowly merged into a need to create this kind of sound images himself...

Jeff, dug deep into the club scene of Berlin and made friends with one of the concrete founders @stvyl at Sisyphos, who soon encouraged him to take his approach on productions more serious and try himself with out with mixing. 

One year ago he started mixing with vinyls and his passion grew even stronger. Becoming an inherent part of the collective his abilities could be tested soon on the concrete underground raves and vinyl only open airs of the befriended @veiled_sound collective.

Blending 90's tribal, trance with trippy new school cuts in his mixes, he slowly enters the soundscapes he was looking for during those hot' n' sweaty club nights.

We are very excited to present the 61st episode featuring an assortment of pounding grooves and intertwined old-school, 4x4 weapons from another member of the re:flect crew, Cutepartynurse!

"After roaming around on the dance floor for a while, I became more and more interested in dj'ing. I experienced many crazy moments in clubs when the DJ managed to drive the crowd crazy. Chasing and creating those moments is my passion, and even thinking of that gives me goosebumps. For this mix, I paid close attention to the track selection. Many tracks have vocals in them, and blending high-energy grooves with old-school sounds was also quite challenging. After preparing the playlist, I only recorded the mix once. It's not flawless, but very authentic. I hope you like it.

I'm also part of re:flect, a multidisciplinary music, art, and event collective based in Berlin. We launched the project in June after six months of preparation. We aim to counteract the strict separation of different artistic disciplines by breaking down any boundaries. We are open to collaboration. Currently, we are planning our first event. This week, we invited Berlin based Nona. Electronic dance music, especially techno, captivated him for several reasons. First of all, it creates an atmosphere over a longer period of time. Next to that, the DJ is able to tell stories which influence the dance floor through interaction between each other and the DJ; a very unique musical, mental and physical experience on both sides. Also, coming together in mystical party-time utopias and dancing - a great passion of his - might even be the reason for him to start selecting and mixing tracks.

Nona’s focus has always been on high tempo. This mix features galloping bass lines, precise drum elements and a hypnotizing, energetic and functional sound.

Besides his solo project as Nona, he is also part of re:flect (@re.flect), a multidisciplinary music and art collective based in Berlin. Keep an eye on that one as well!
