Monkeytown Records is a record label based in Berlin. Founded by Modeselektor in 2009, it has been a vital international hub for various styles of electronic music on and off the dance floor since the beginning. Still, Monkeytown is not your average ever expanding label on the hunt for the next big thing. At its heart, a tightly knit crew of friends is operating, providing a snug little home base all our artists can rely on.

Liverpool born John Murphy began scoring movies at the age of 25. In 2001, following the success of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, he moved to Los Angeles.

Since then he has worked with some of the industry's most respected and luminary filmmakers, including Michael Mann, Danny Boyle, Guy Ritchie, Stephen Frears, and James Gunn, producing film scores as prominent and diverse as Sunshine, Kick-Ass, The Suicide Squad, and the seminal 28 Days Later.

After Kick-Ass Murphy set up the record label Taped Noise and began work on several non-movie projects. His latest film ‘The Suicide Squad’, with James Gunn for Warner Bros, will be released on August 6.

Distinguished Relativez was formed in 2011 in Liverpool. Their sound is best described as world music, a fusion of cool Afro beats, spicy  Hip-hop & sunshine Reggae. The philosophy behind D.rel can be summarised in the Xhosa language as "umntu ngumntu ngabantu" or simply translated, "no man is an island." We believe that music is a tool  to educate and unite humanity once again.
