Contradictory Assertions

This music was done way back in 1982 for a college electronic music class project.  The recording took place over two nights (all-nighters) using only a Tascam 4-track cassette Portastudio, a Boss DE-200 delay and an Oberheim OB-8 synthesizer.  The tracks were mixed from my Portastudio directly to another cassette deck, so pardon the recording quality.  I still think the tracks sound excellent, albeit dated, and it's a great example of all the things an OB-8 can do.  There was no sequencer used to make these tracks, only the OB-8 arpeggiator, the delay and two hands were used.

(I was sweating it to get these tracks done so I wouldn't flunk the class. I ended up with an A!)

A part of a live club set of Roughneck Posse in the early 90's - probably at Blind Melon's in Pacific Beach.  Rocking reggae music with awesome vocals. One of San Diego's best live Reggae Bands of all time! We played together from about 1989 to 1994 and won the San Diego Music Award for Best Reggae Band in 1992. Enjoy!

Studio Voodoo is me (Ted Price a.k.a. "Starsky") and Gary "Koz" Mraz - I'm on the right. We love world music and raw beats and we come from the old school, when analog synths ruled!

Surround sound is our passion and many Studio Voodoo tracks were originally recorded for 5.1 or 6.1 DTS surround playback.

Ted and Gary performed at the Kava Lounge in San Diego on 5/3.  Check out "Kava Lounge Live Modular Rehearsal" to hear our rehearsal for the show.

Ted wrote "Modular Biker" to accompany Gary's story "Midnight Rider on a Graveyard Run".

7/25/15: The Studio Voodoo Song "Imagines de Espana" was licensed for use at the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics in Los Angeles.
