The progressive duo has crafted a unique yet authentic brand that is a vehicle for change using witty wordplay, sharp punch lines, fluid delivery, melodic beats and an authentic storyline. “New Wave” not only defines TumboiiKinFolk’s sonically aggressive sound, but also the movement. While both group members currently reside in Atlanta, GA, Tumboii is a lesbian who hails from Columbia, SC and KinFolk is a heterosexual male from Memphis, TN. Together they are redefining Hip Hop and helping to push the culture forward. “We represent social integration and overall acceptance in music and beyond,” explains KinFolk. “Our intensity also sets us apart. The messages in our lyrics, as well as our visuals speak directly to the new generation.” 
While Tumboii is an emerging MC who could be described as an offspring of Missy, Future and Young Thug, KinFolk (also known as Kia Shine) has a multi-hyphenated resume. Just a few of his credits include Co-writer for platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated artist Drake (“Best I Ever Had”), Co-publisher of Yo Gotti’s single “5 Star Chick” and radio show host on KXHT 107.1 in Memphis. Additionally, his single “So Krispy” (Universal/Motown) went Gold.
