THE RAILWAY SONG

I wrote this in January 2005, and have performed it solo many times but it took a while to get it recorded.

Each verse (and the bridge) is a scene from the Ithaca, NY area.

Lyrics:

a flash of insight into
something gray you'd thought was unclean

rolling down the hillside,
tired and in no gear

slogging through the snow and ice

I perform as a solo singer-songwriter with a guitar, but also like playing with other sounds. I tend to sing about love, loss, transcendence, and the passage of time, but I like songs with humor and "show don't tell."
