In the vast marketplace of music, art, and culture it is essential to produce a spark in the conscience of people toward human conditions and to create music that will edify, empower, and stimulate people into showing their true “LIGHT” in life. With plans to show that music can cross barrier lines without enveloping ones core beliefs my mission is to induce, excite, and inspire individuals to live out their God given purpose, in first, themselves and ultimately the world. To listen to music is to fall in line with the status quo but to embrace music is to change the world.  

A passionate, anointed visionary, D'Merit born and raised in Miami, Florida; where he was raised by his single mother, Cassandra James-Harris. He attended Miami Norland Senior High School where he served as their star running back. D'Merit has always had a deep interest and talent in music as he performed in many talent shows at school. He graduated and received a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota.  D'Merit left Minnesota to be closer to family and transferred to Florida International University where he also played football. One evening, he and some friends were arrested and were facing 9 felony charges, 3 of which carried life sentences. D'Merit spent almost one year in jail, until God delivered him and all charges were dropped.
