     Howdy everyone and I hope everyone had a great Labor Day, without laboring of course!😂 This is another of my instrumentals, which actually had lyrics but the vocals were not recorded too well so I made it into an instrumental. It's about having that Las Vegas experience which I'm sure nobody can afford anymore with this economy unless you're a billionaire! I've been to Vegas many times and most times I've lost, hence the title "Lost Wages"! I'm not a gambler, so when I lose a couple of hundred dollars I start sweating profusely!!😂 It's a fast paced song and I played like a boogie-woogie synthesizer on it and a rock guitar. Charlie played a groovy harmonica on it too! I've decided to drop an instrumental and a cover song every month from now on besides my normal songs and videos.      The video was a lot of fun to put together and it's all about Las Vegas, the gambling, the show girls, the drinking, the excesses, pretty decadent stuff! There's is a lot of eye-candy here for the grown-ups to enjoy! It drops tomorrow on YouTube! The original song with lyrics was called "My Neck Of The Woods" so if Charlie and I rerecord the vocals, I'll make a video of it as well. I hope everyone enjoys this song and video and remember, don't gamble unless you can afford to lose a ton of money and are rich because it is an addiction! Last time we went to Las Vegas, back before the pandemic, it was for about a week and all we saw were the shows and never gambled, that was my favorite trip because I didn't lose a dime! But guess what? We're going back to Las Vegas in December 2025 to watch the new "Wizard Of Oz" spectacular in The Sphere! Check out the clips on YouTube, it's really mind-blowing! No gambling!! Le ciel change chaque jour et imprime d’imperceptibles nuances grâce à ses nuages aux mille et une forme. Tout ciel nuageux en forme de gaze longiforme donnent cette « mélancolique lessive d’or du couchant » dont parlait si bien Rimbaud .... La fin d'été approche et nous pouvons observer maintenant un ciel plein de gros nuages blancs et aux nuances de gris, bourgeonnants, rembourrés, cotonneux, mais aussi lumineux comme des lampes au reflets lactescent …. 
J'ai essayé d'être représentatif de ce phénomène avec les nuances harmoniques de ce concept ….

This one began more than a year ago, when Josh created a song out of a looper beat with his four string fretless bass. It sat on the shelf until a few weeks ago, when he shared it with JJ, who was in creative mode one Saturday evening. Josh had actually forgotten that he'd added a bass line to it, and thought he was just passing on a looper beat for JJ to play with. 
  However, JJ heard it, and was so excited that added his magical electric piano part, making it sound like a real song, instead of just drums and a bass. Ken also heard some magic in here, because he came up with his own brilliant beat to replace the looper that was used in for the seed. Mark was next to throw in, adding the thrilling flute solo (complete with a hidden 'Star Trek' theme tribute), and the percussion pattern that comes in after the solo to the end. Tez came in shortly after, adding some atmospheric guitar at the beginning and end of the song. After everyone had added their parts, Josh came back and added two guitar parts, the simple low end line, as well as the high strummed triads. At this stage, Mark did some arrangement editing, to open up more room for the instruments and make space for the vocals, yet to arrive. 
  Now that the song was musically complete, our newest member, Carl, dropped the amazing vocals you hear, singing his original lyrics. After Carl was done sprinkling his magic in it, we needed an able producer to bring out the magic of the recordings. Good thing we have a trained producer to do the job in Stephen, who mixed and mastered it superbly, as always. 
  This is Eclectic Collective's first foray into the Afrobeat genre, although a few of us are really big fans already, and Josh has a few other originals in this genre buried on his page, as well. As always, we all enjoyed the process of hearing this one come together. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

I bought an eight string guitar  a while back, this is a track where I play bass guitar and guitar parts at once.I used my thumb curled round the neck, which is somewhat tricky on a wide 8 string neck!
The piece was done virtually in one take as I prefer recording 'as played' these days as opposed to endless overdubs and editing!
The guitar part 'swings' in time in relation to the drums, and is deliberately not in perfect time.
