In their brief lifetime, Edinburgh’s VISITORS popped in and disappeared like a flash. Formed in the late 1970s by brothers John and Derek McVay, school friend Colin Craigie and rotating drummers Alan Laing and Keith Wilson, the group sparked a fuse with their rightfully titled debut single, 1979’s “Electric Heat.” This instant classic caught the ear of BBC’s godhead DJ John Peel. 

Thankfully we now have Poet’s End, a VISITORS compilation which includes all previously released VISITORS singles and 4 previously unreleased tracks. Poet's End will be release on May 8th, 2016.

Little Mary strays from the pack, floating from one rock to another, in the midst of the narrow cascading river stream. Feeling the respirating leaves ebb and flow, she caught a glimpse of a pagan rain dance, a drum circle within a pocket of sunshine – where all mantras come to life.

This captivating split EP (titled ‘Acosta’), sees Kilchhofer’s second 12”, after his ‘Dersu’ EP on ‘Marionette’. The flip side features Hainbach who gets his work pressed on vinyl for the very first time – after a few tape releases, his latest being on Ted Butler & Cortini’s ‘Limited Interest’ label. This is truly something wonderful from two very gifted and unique artists.

Little Mary is a series by Marionette (a spin-off Marionette artists) – focused on split EPs and collaborative works.

@pallasathene is the ethereal-pop project of Breanna Johnston (Toronto, Canada). Her music is the result of introspection, isolation, and rehabilitation, with lo-fi dream pop by Cavern of Anti-Matter (Tim from Stereolab), and others. In 2017 they released On an Ocean Of Greatness; a single track, 77-minute album celebrating the 21st birthday of the Where It’s At Is Where You Are label. The band spent 2018 working on a new studio album, due for release in 2019.

Compact in name but wide-eyed in nature, it’s understandable how the 70’s band known simply as COS has remained trapped in the tight cracks between pop stardom and prog indulgence where other like minded names like CAN, Zao, Neu! And Egg have managed to squeeze into gaps of your record collection. In presenting one of the band’s most infectious and potentially crossover legible tracks on this exclusive user-friendly 45, COS mastermind Daniel Schell not only breaks an unlikely new format for this lesser-known femme-fronted, electro/jazz fusion/prog pop opera/would-be disco cinematic six-piece but also sends a sonic telegram to a new generation of futurist pop aficionados ready to explore the deep realms of his band’s dense, expansive and consistently rewarding catalogue.

Placing the microscope over the central motif of the band’s onomatopoeic 1978 triptych known as Mein Maschine Ist Schön (My Machine Is Beautiful) this very rare proposed single edit from the group’s third album combines the type of warm, brooding, discoid funk and nymphish Morse code vocals that unite fans of Stereolab, Curved Air, Jan Hammer, Emerald Web and Ursula Dudziak not to mention Schell’s own close friends, the aforementioned, Hollander, Moulin and Placebo.
