Tapefeed launch their new label Inveterate with a furious and forward-thinking 5-track EP, which includes a class remix from Cocktail Party Effect. This EP brings together the duo’s ethical beliefs with the energy of protest against an elitist society. This runs through every element of the project, musically and visually.

‘Revolving Door’ deals with the constant corruption of unaccountable governments. It’s inspired by ‘Inveterate Liar’, the track which gave the label its name and its focus, and the title comes from the feeling that nothing ever changes, that one thief is simply replaced by another. “Plain View’ is about the power in the Fourth Amendment that allows any officer to seize any evidence and contraband that is found in plain view, a loophole wide open for lies and brutality to creep through. ‘Kickback’ is what you pay to grease the wheels of the corporate machine, and “The Archetypes” refers to the five archetypes of politicians: the joker, the technocrate, the messiah, the rebel and the outsider.

These are five tracks thumping with the power and spirit of resistance, bringing unrest and revolution to the heart of the dancefloor.

Austrian rising talent Aida Arko opens the new Soma Collective Process Vol. 3 EP with "A New Empire," a hulking and relentless dance floor focussed attack. 

Volume 3 of the Collective Process VA’s drops with yet another solid roster of upcoming techno talent. Soma is proud to present 4 unique and hard hitting tracks from Aida Arko, Anna Kost, ANNĒ & 3SBAT with each producer bringing their own style to the release, creating an absolute monster EP. 

Aida Arko is an avant-garde electronic music producer and DJ based in Vienna and specializing in techno.

In addition to Aida Arko, Vol. 3 also features Berlin-based Anna Kost drops the heady and broken beat 64 hexagrams. A twisted tale powered by aggressive percussion and hard attitude. Continuing the head on charge of Collective Process Vol. 3, ANNĒ delivers the sub heavy and rolling Default; it’s subtle melodic elements compliment the track’s fast, driving nature. Closing out the EP is the Glasgow based 3SBAT as their ritualistic sound design approach on Death & Rebirth takes in dark and industrial overtones

On March 2020 the world was abruptly thrown into collective disarray. The pandemic stopped almost everything dead in its tracks. No social gatherings, self-isolation, a sense of panic and bewilderment prevailed. An industry that had become so dependent on human connection and unity, was suddenly switched off and put on pause for an unforeseeable future.

It was in this climate that The Louder Than Chaos project was born, facilitated by Soma Records’ head honchos and Techno protagonists Slam. A collaborative project with friends, colleagues and contemporaries normally only seen at airports, or events, now brought together under a completely different set of circumstances, allowing for a purposeful connection in a time of disconnect. The focus of the project is built on a powerful mutual participation, remotely constructed over time and fully intended for holding court on peak time dance floors when they inevitably return. That time has now finally come.

The Louder Than Chaos project is a series of 5 releases, on 12 vinyl” & Digital, to be released monthly via Soma Records. Featuring collaborations between Slam & Hector Oaks, Slam & 999999999, Slam & Keith Tucker (AKA Optic Nerve), Slam & Amelie Lens, Slam & Rebekah, Slam & AnD and finally Slam & Perc.

Each EP features specially commissioned artwork from German based artist PPP Panic, which consolidates into one constructive piece over the 5 releases.

Opening Volume 1, Slam pair with Italian rave starters 999999999 for Conveyor. Arguably one of the hardest tracks in the project, both artists combine to unleash a furious and twisted acid techno stomper. Madrid born, vinyl enthusiast Hector Oaks is next up, joining Slam on a proper, attitude filled techno excursion with Pathfinder; its heady melodic elements mask a driving and potent track. Detroit originator Optic Nerve helps Slam to close out the EP with the Motor City electronics of Machine Conflict. Early Slam influence mixes perfectly with the Detroit native’s unique electro sound.
