The Equinox is a time of balance and stillness. Grandmother Earth and her worlds are in an equal amount of day and night, outward action and internal reflection. This balance creates a pause, a stillness. We feel this type of pause with every breath, the moment our inhale turns and becomes an exhale.When we are rooted in our pausing with balance and stillness, we become a space of equilibrium that, like a tuning fork, can support others to pause and find their balance.Let's balance our inner night and day.Let's use our darkness to become the most magical light.

The recording is a live recording after a cacao-ritual on the first day at Retreat:Magika at Haarberghof/Austria. Thank you to all who made this gathering possible in difficult times and deep gratitude with all my heart for the wonderful music I was allowed to use here.

weaving intricate webs of grace

with the swing of my big belly and hips

and the hum from my lips

I dance

in the light

and the shadow

of the fire.

I disintegrate

with the embers.

And from the ashes,

I rise into 

motherhood.

Thank you to the dance floors who have watched me blossom, it is soon time for me traverse the passage into motherhood. 

This was the last set I played at Yoga Barn Oct 24, 2021, and I trust it won't be my last. See you on the other side.

The Apukuna Breath Medicine series of mixes is a gift in support of personal healing, transformation and growth. Our breath is the most readily accessible medicine available to us. There are many ways to work with our breath and this series is in support of your practice. These particular breath medicine journeys are inspired by my own practice that is most similar to Holotropic Breathwork. For me, the breathing is deeper, a little faster, only through the mouth and only through the chest. Many others can find great benefit through the nose or using the belly. Best advice... experiment and listen to your body. With love from the mountains. @apukuna

[mix002] - This 75-minute journey was recorded in December 2021. The journey includes Native American musicians R. Carlos Nakai (Navajo / Ute), Primeaux & Mike (Oglalla/Dakota (Yankton) Sioux and Ponca & Dine Navajo) and Joanne Shenandoah (Oneida Nation, Wolf Clan, Haudenosaunee). As this breathwork journey was coming together, Joanne Shenanodah breathed her last breath in this life on November 22, 2021. Prayers to Joanne on her journey into ancestorhood. Also included in this mix is a favorite for breathwork - Deya Dova’s Ancient Creation Mother - recorded on the edge of Kīlauea volcano crater on Hawai’i’s Big Island.

I couldn't have imagined a more dreamy European Apukuna debut than this night here! A few hundred beautiful beings welcomed in the evening and became a part of my dream. The night offered some valuable wisdom on just how DEEP a dancefloor can go when the people who show up are holding the space with abounding hearts, clear intentions, and immense impeccability. For more than half of the two-hour set, the radical love dancers held their attention and focus into the center of the dancefloor. Everyone became a facilitator. This was Radical Love at its finest. And with that focus, something deep was generated in the middle. Pure magic! Offered to you as a meditation, a movement, and a prayer for an awakening heart.  - @Apukuna

🦜✨ Birds becoming more lively, flowers gently opening their petals, while rays of light are drying the morning dew from the grass and leaves of trees. What an innocent feeling time and time again, but how many days in this lifetime do you really cherish this magical moment that happens every single day?

☀️ Grandfather Sun, life giver of earth is fueling to our spirit. The mysterious life force within each of us. Our power to live, to create and walk a path constant transformation. 

💫 Close your eyes and find the silence between the sounds, let your soul song emerge from the deepest part of yourself. Can you hear the frequency emanating from the eternal flickering flame that burns inside of you?  

🔥 Sit with me by the fire and remember who you are! Gathered around the fire we contemplate and celebrate, we sing, drum and dance. We have learned to work with fire, to control fire, to destroy with fire and alchemize with fire. We worship fire because without fire - without sun - without the spirit inside of us we would not be.

🌙✨ Back in the dark where all has begone we rest and let the fire burn to ashes and ambers, calling in the night with one last song. A song of gratitude, of playfulness and curiosity of what’s next?
