The heathens of Cruciamentum assembled in 2009 with the intent of evoking the most abyssal of death metal violence, drawing on influences from dISEMBOWELMENT, Incantation, Immolation, Demigod, Rottrevore, etc. but moulding these influences into something uniquely their own. The 'Convocation of Crawling Chaos' demo was hewn from the purest veins of sulphurous death; three tracks demonstrating a focused and merciless intent. The demo was released in a number of pressings, attracting the attention of various labels, before a deal was struck with Nuclear Winter Records. Now 'Convocation of Crawling Chaos' will receive a full CD and LP reissue, with new artwork from Alex Brown reflecting the swirling gates to the spheres of absurdity.

One of the earliest Swedish Death Metal beast WOMBBATH rises from reanimation with a fresh-born disease entitled “Downfall Rising” in 22 years!

Strickened with the rancid HM-2 stench throughout the entire record, WOMBBATH displays some of the most sordid riffs with a tinge of masterful guitar leadwork, courtesy of current Skineater and ex-In Thy Dreams six-stringer Håkan Stuvemark. Old SweDeath is once again glorified by the defenders of the faithful.

Mixed by the band's very own skinsbasher Jeramie Kling (The Absence, Infernaeon, etc) and mastered by James Murphy (Disincarnate, ex-Death, ex-Testament, ex-Obituary, etc) at the SafeHouse Production, USA.

The opening track of the EP, titled Grisk, sets the tone for the EP with a calibrated sense of enticing eeriness, followed by the more playful and debouched rhythmic sounds of Instinct. Nferee’s remix of this track is accentuated by it’s inclusion of acidic overtones, whereas Shadowcomplex’s remix version of this track is noteworthy for the manner in which the original sounds are metamorphosed into an adventurous war-drum styled composition that are teeming with both suspense and expectation. This sense of adventure is advanced further in the concluding track titled Movement, which neatly encapsulates the mysterious and tense aura which is pervasive throughout the EP.
