A firm favourite of the progressive and melodic house faithful, Sebastian Sellares has consistently cast a bright light on his production credentials. With of growing body of work that has seen outstanding releases for the likes of Paul Thomas' UV, Cid Inc's Replug and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile, Sebastian's "Jinsei / Zen State" EP was a notable Proton Music highlight in October 2020, including remixes from Matias Chilano and the iconic, Nick Muir. Now returning with a second original EP, "Conviction" is founded upon a metronomic top-line and heavy beat before filtered synths subtly enter the fray. Full of wonderful sound effects and sonic character that grabs listener attention, eerie textures add to the collage before a sublime arpeggio makes its mark. Rising and falling, it reaches a powerful crescendo in the final movement. A vibrant dynamism and shimmering melody immediately provide a lighter air to "Reverse Call". Still characterised by a familiar sonic narrative, a strong arpeggio and free-flowing synth sequence adds emotion aplenty at the breakdown before a snare roll heralds the return of a mesmerising dancefloor groove and rhythmic brio.

An artist familiar artist to the underground progressive house cognoscenti, Imran Khan has consistently created a portfolio of music that contains the musical hallmarks of a talented producer. Almost 200 production credits bear witness to that success over an 8-year period. Proton Music has played its own part in showcasing the Imran Khan sound as 2019's "Organic" and "Sunsweat" EPs testify. Remixes for the likes of LADS, GMJ, Dmitry Molosh, and Petar Dundov in late 2021 are now joined by a typically atmospheric interpretation of "Conviction". Incorporating the atmospheric textures and soundscapes of the original, Imran has turned them into a hypnotic rolling dancefloor groove that scintillates with its delayed arps and beautifully crafted counterpoint keys that drift across the breakdown landscape. The resultant combination of rhythm and melody is a tribute to the UK producer's sublime technique and innate production talent.

Subconscious Tales has always revelled in music that comes from ‘carefully crafted compositions that embrace the energy of darkness and beauty.' Able to translate this mission statement in a double century of releases, the Latvian producer has been a Proton Music regular with such standout moments as 2019's "Magnectares", 2020's "Soulreaper" and April 2022's "Experience" EPs. A portfolio bookended by remixes for David Calo in 2017 and Dabeat in mid-2022, Subconscious Tales now returns with a beautifully crafted interpretation of "Conviction" that bristles with energy and hi-hat urgency. Crafting a huge bassline groove, a familiar arpeggio from Sebastian Sellares' track makes its presence felt, building in imperceptible fizzing energy. Adding to the original, a swathe of new production material and sympathetic new melodies are grafted to original components in seamless fashion to create a majestic and powerful new remix.

Pro B we continue to welcome firsts, and this is another, We welcome with open arms RYAN (CU) with his stunning EP Nirvana, what we have here for you is a three-tracked EP which includes the original, as well as Jero Nougues and Hobin Rude Remixes. RYAN (CU) Kicks off proceedings with the original (Note already played out from Hernan Cattaneo on Resident #666), this starts up with a solid 4/4 Kick and Acid line running through the back before the melody starts to come through. As this moves along you are hit with sweeping pads, and melodic key changes that are beautiful and haunting whilst still keeping that progressive edge, We really love this, Next up and another first we welcome Jero Nougues for his take on Nirvana, Jero toughens things up a bit right from the off but uses all the main elements which you can hear perfectly through all the additional parts/sequences that Jero has brought in, at around the 2:30 mark you are hit with a stunning break before that solid 4/4 kicks once again, a real driver here. Last but not least we welcome back Hobin Rude, Hobin does what he does best, this is a darker, deeper groove, you still pick up the original melody/elements but everything is much darker and stripped back, this one is a beauty something you will get your head down for another superb production as always. Tenampa now turn to hot UK talent Max Chapman for their excellent next EP, Impact, which features four original new tracks from the Resonance Records boss and a top remix from Finland born but Berlin based Kiki. 

Chapman emerged in 2011 and immediately got his infectious club sounds aired on Radio 1 with Pete Tong a big fan.
Since then he has established his label with those in the know, as well as DJing around the world storming through Mexico, USA, South America, Australia, various parts of Europe and of course constantly traveling up and down the UK.

Now he comes correct with more with this latest special offering. 

Up first, Voices is a ghoulish number with filtered vocals, tense drums and tight synth stabs that make for aa spooky atmosphere. A bendy bassline adds some elastic grooviness to the track as it rolls on through a future landscape and then comes Impact. This one is another abstract and sci-fi bit of machine med tech funk with its riffing melodies and deep, grinding drums. Searching laser synths pan the landscape and keep your mind busy as well as your feet. The remix of this one from BPitch Control’s leading man Kiki is a more deep and soft edged affair with sandy hi hats, celestial melodies and spooky synth sweeps all depicting a chilly winter walk in a magical forest.

Again is the last offering and it has firmly rooted drums, garage like percussion and some seductive vocal coos that bring a human flavour to the freaky sounds all around. It’s a locked in groove that will really make floors sweat and rounds out yet another all fire missive from Max Chapman, who by now is one of the UK’s best.

The  release  opens  with  the  title  track,  The  Mask  Of  Sanity;  Over  8  minutes  of  haunting  synth work and expertly compiled drums that build to a bubbling crescendo of that Reset Robot sound we all know and adore. Track two is Bil'am's Donkey; A harder more-to-the-point weapon with pounding  drums  that  doesn't  mess  around.  Next  up  is Paradise  Lost;  This  is  more  of  a  driving affair with a house twist. Expect to hear this one on repeat across dancefloors this summer. The release  closes  with Oak  Ridge  Capsule;  Mechanical  yet  groovy,  moody  but  danceable,  this  is exactly why we love what Reset Robot encapsulates so much.
