A hybrid of primitive lo-fi industrial and rhythmic noise in vain of Esplendor Geometrico and shades of early Krautrock pioneers Can and Neu!. A remarkable collection that recalls the beginnings of genres now entrenched in underground culture.

Today we are premiering the track “Unfortunate” from the absolutely stunning upcoming LP by Evitceles, on Accents records. Evitceles is an emerging artist from Bulgaria. His signature sound is imaginative and melancholic, a romantic vision of contemporary electronic music. He has already released on Seagrave, AMEK Collective, Noorden, Yerevan Tapes and Opal Tapes.

A sensual hauling towards the endless passion. An unfinished dream in a overwhelming atmosphere where limits are playing with the senses. The lines are not clearly drawn and you are free to keep wandering, as the beat enters and the drums rip you off, in a delirium of voices. “Unfortunate” is a flickering candle in an empty room and a psychotropic exploration of your creative mind.

We are proud to present two new EPs from De Bons en Pierre, the duo of Beau Wanzer @bwanz & Maoupa Mazzocchetti @maoupa-mazzocchetti . Beau Wanzer spends the majority of his days sifting through paraffin embedded animal tissues and reading old issues of Fangoria, occasionally breaking his monotonous routine to record in various fits and bursts. As well as solo material, he is also in numerous projects including Streetwalker, Mutant Beat Dance, Civil Duty, and Corporate Park. Maoupa Mazzocchetti is the pseudonym of Florent Mazzocchetti, a French producer based in Brussels. His sonic vision is one which constantly straddles the line between wild experimentation and rhythmic compatibility, drawing influence from early concrète, 80's tape scene and Birmingham school techno. 
After working together on the ‘Crepes’ EP that we released in 2017, De Bons en Pierre reunited for a two day recording session in Brussels. The duo recorded 13 tracks that we’ve split across 2 EPs with 6 tracks on ‘EP No. 1’ and 7 tracks on ‘EP No. 2’. Beau says, “We hooked everything up and just pushed play. We didn’t really discuss much about the process….it was very ‘spur of the moment’.” The equipment set up included a Roland TR-808, TR-606, SH-101, CR-78, CR-8000, two Syncussions and effects. Each EP contains 25 minutes of dance floor perversions that tackle an array of rhythmic forms. Sludgy synths, serrated percussion and viscous distortion goops over leviathan rhythms. All songs are mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. ‘EP No. 1’ is housed in a sewage green jacket featuring a monster mask duo and spiky motifs designed by Florent Mazzocchetti, and ‘EP No. 2’ is radioactive orange with a different pair of monster masks.

TL Premiere : Meltphace - Take It Easy [Diffuse Reality Records]

Halflings, the electronic music group of Jeremy Nissan and Ryan Woodhall, was started on Long Island NY in 2005 as a direct response to their suburban upbringing. The duo’s background in DIY punk and their obsession with raw sound led to a distinctly compositional and live approach to harsh noise and power electronics. As teenagers, Halflings caught the ear of Ron Lessard, who released their first full Length LP Self Esteem on RRRecords. 

Over the years the band has pushed the structural element of their work to the forefront, fusing extreme sound with pop, prog, and electronic dance music. Halflings develop each album thematically, often writing lyrics from a first-person perspective as a means to gain understanding of their subjects as well as their own psyche. 

Little Orchard Boy was conceived as a concept album born from their shared formative experiences of sexuality & masculinity. It should be no surprise that the record digs into the band’s early encounters with New York night life. A distinct NYC dirge permeates the raw funk grooves spanning the album. The 3 tracks featured on Little Orchard Boy were initially composed for live performance before being put to tape in 2019. The EP marks an evolution in Halflings’ sound; While the band’s style of noise has always exuded musicality, Little Orchard Boy introduces a more streamlined usage of melody and song structure. The album’s complex drum programming and subtle studio techniques showcase Nissan’s background as a drummer and Woodhall’s background as a producer respectively, but the true power of the sound lies in the duo’s shared musical vocabulary that they’ve developed over the past two decades.

Primitive Languages/Psychic Liberation concludes it’s year span of amorphous output with Little Orchard Boy. Marking the final chapter in the output of the label formally known as Primitive Languages, which created the lane for the new undertaking of Psychic Liberation.

Pulsum has music out on 99 CTS Records, A Peritif De La Morte, and some additional material set to be released soon. If you listen very carefully to their music, it's very obvious that they like Halloween a lot.

Grey People also likes Halloween, and plays records for, about, and inspired by Halloween. Remember that Halloween is inside each of us and nothing can stop that.
